The wait is almost over for one of Disneyland’s most beloved attractions.

After more than a month behind construction walls, Pirates of the Caribbean is preparing to welcome guests back to Disneyland. Disney has officially revealed the attraction’s reopening date, giving fans something to look forward to as summer continues at the Disneyland Resort.
According to the Disneyland calendar, Pirates of the Caribbean will reopen on Friday, June 26, 2026, following a refurbishment that began on May 4. When the attraction initially closed, Disney only stated that the project would last for more than a month, leaving guests without a firm reopening timeline until now.

While Disney has not released a detailed list of every enhancement completed during the closure, the company confirmed that crews used the downtime to perform routine maintenance and improvements throughout the attraction.
According to information shared with media outlets, the refurbishment included work on rockwork enhancements, lighting improvements, and maintenance and updates to the attraction’s Audio-Animatronics figures.
These types of refurbishments help preserve one of Disney’s most iconic attractions while ensuring it continues operating smoothly for millions of guests each year.

Originally opening on March 18, 1967, Pirates of the Caribbean holds a special place in Disney history as the last attraction that Walt Disney personally supervised during development before his passing. More than five decades later, it remains one of the most popular attractions at Disneyland and has inspired versions at other Disney parks around the world, including Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris.
Over the years, the Disneyland version has evolved with updated scenes, enhanced effects, and the addition of characters from Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise, including Captain Jack Sparrow, while maintaining the classic storytelling and atmosphere that have made it a fan favorite for generations.

The attraction’s reopening comes just as summer crowds continue arriving at Disneyland Resort, making it welcome news for guests planning vacations in the coming weeks.
Pirates of the Caribbean consistently ranks among the park’s highest-capacity attractions and is often considered a must-do experience thanks to its immersive sets, memorable Audio-Animatronics, and iconic theme song, “Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me).” Its return will help expand attraction availability during one of Disneyland’s busiest travel seasons.

With reopening day now officially on the calendar, guests visiting Disneyland beginning June 26 can once again sail through the pirate-infested waters of New Orleans Square and experience one of Disney’s most celebrated attractions.
As always, reopening dates remain subject to change, but for now, Disney fans can officially begin counting down until the return of this timeless adventure.
