If you’re planning a Disneyland vacation this summer, you’ll want to pay close attention to the resort’s growing refurbishment list.

Disneyland has quietly added two more closures to its calendar, giving guests even more reasons to double-check attraction availability before arriving. While refurbishments are a normal part of operating a world-class theme park, the list of unavailable experiences continues to grow as Disneyland moves through its busy summer season.

According to Disneyland’s refurbishment calendar, Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition is now scheduled to close beginning June 30, 2026.

Located in Frontierland, the classic interactive attraction has entertained guests for decades by allowing visitors to test their aim at a variety of animated targets throughout the Old West-themed setting. While it may not be one of Disneyland’s headline attractions, it has developed a loyal following among longtime park fans who appreciate its nostalgic charm and unique place in Disneyland history.

At this time, Disney has not announced how long the Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition closure will last or what specific work is planned during the refurbishment.

Another closure recently added to the schedule is Pixie Hollow, the Fantasyland meet-and-greet area where guests can encounter Tinker Bell and her fairy friends.

Pixie Hollow has become a favorite destination for families with young children, offering one of the most immersive character greeting environments in Disneyland Park. The attraction’s lush landscaping and interactive setting make it feel as though guests have actually shrunk down to fairy size before meeting some of Disney’s most beloved characters.

Like Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition, Disney has not announced a reopening date for Pixie Hollow.

These additions come as Disneyland continues balancing regular maintenance, attraction upgrades, and operational improvements throughout the resort. While temporary closures can be disappointing, refurbishment projects help ensure attractions and guest areas remain in top condition for future visitors.

And these aren’t the only closures Disneyland guests should be aware of this summer.

Several other attractions and locations are already scheduled for refurbishment, including Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, King Arthur Carrousel, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Little Green Men Store Command in Tomorrowland. Depending on when guests visit, these closures could impact attraction plans, Lightning Lane strategies, and overall park touring plans.

Fortunately, Disneyland still offers dozens of attractions, entertainment offerings, dining locations, character experiences, and seasonal festivities throughout both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.

Still, if Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition or a visit with Tinker Bell is on your Disneyland must-do list, you’ll want to factor these new closures into your vacation plans.
