If you’re hoping to be among the first riders on Universal Studios Hollywood’s newest coaster, you may need more than just an early arrival strategy.

A newly spotted detail on the official Universal Studios Hollywood attraction page suggests that Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift could utilize a Virtual Line system when the attraction opens.

The attraction’s information page now includes a notice stating:

“You may need a Virtual Line return time to experience this attraction.”

While Universal has not officially announced that a Virtual Line will be required at opening, the addition of the language has caught the attention of theme park fans eagerly awaiting the coaster’s debut.

What Is a Virtual Line?

Universal’s Virtual Line system allows guests to reserve a return time through the official Universal Studios Hollywood app rather than waiting in a traditional standby queue for extended periods.

The system has previously been used for high-demand attractions, special events, and new ride openings to help manage crowd levels and reduce wait times throughout the park.

Given the enormous anticipation surrounding Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, many fans expected some form of capacity management to be implemented during the attraction’s opening weeks.

A Huge New Addition for Universal Studios Hollywood

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is scheduled to open on June 26, 2026, and will become Universal Studios Hollywood’s first high-speed outdoor roller coaster.

The attraction features rotating ride vehicles designed to simulate the sensation of drifting while racing through a series of high-speed maneuvers inspired by the blockbuster Fast & Furious franchise.

Construction on the coaster has transformed a significant portion of the Upper Lot and has become one of the most anticipated theme park openings of the year.

What This Could Mean for Opening Day

At this point, Universal has not confirmed whether the Virtual Line system will be mandatory, optional, or only activated during periods of high demand.

However, the appearance of the notice on the attraction page strongly suggests the resort is preparing operational plans for extremely large crowds once Hollywood Drift officially opens.
