Start your engines! Universal Studios Hollywood just shared a BIG update on one of its most anticipated new rides.

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is officially moving into an exciting new phase, and this latest milestone brings the upcoming Universal Studios Hollywood roller coaster one step closer to opening. While we still do not have an exact opening date just yet, this is the kind of update theme park fans watch closely.
Universal Studios Hollywood says Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift has reached a key milestone as Universal Creative team member “ridership” testing begins.
This means a limited group of Universal Creative project team members, ride engineers, and programmers are now riding the attraction as part of the testing process. From here, engineers and programmers are making final ride adjustments to the ride system, which marks a major step toward the coaster’s eventual opening.

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is set to become Universal Studios Hollywood’s first-ever high-speed outdoor roller coaster, bringing the Fast & Furious franchise to life in a totally new way. Universal has previously described the attraction as featuring groundbreaking 360-degree rotation on individual ride vehicles, designed to create the sensation of drifting cars as they spin in motion along the track.
For fans following Universal Studios Hollywood construction updates, ride testing is always a big moment. It does not necessarily mean an opening date is imminent, but it does mean the attraction is continuing to move forward through an important phase before guests can experience it.

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is currently expected to open at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2026.
We will be keeping a close eye on Universal Studios Hollywood for more Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift updates, including additional testing progress, previews, and any official opening date news.
