Every once in a while, a Disney Springs announcement comes along that makes me stop scrolling, and today it is because a slime company just revealed it has been keeping a big secret.

Well, the secret is out: Kawaii Slime Company is coming to Disney Springs.
The brand shared the news in an Instagram reel, collaborated between Kawaii Slime Company and Disney Springs. The caption, in short, says the company has been sitting on a big secret and is now officially headed to Disney Springs. That is, so far, the whole announcement.
Currently, there is no opening date and no exact location within Disney Springs yet. It is also not clear whether the new spot will be a small cart, a kiosk, or a full brick-and-mortar store, which makes a big difference in what guests can expect. So if you were hoping for a map pin and a grand opening date, we are not there yet.
The announcement itself, as reported, does not say the California cart is closing, so I would treat the relocation idea as a guess rather than a fact until the company says otherwise.

The Disneyland Resort cart opened in Downtown Disney in October 2024, after being announced earlier that year for a fall debut. Guests can pick up ready-made slime, or build their own custom creation with textures, colors, scents, and glittery mix-ins, which turns buying a souvenir into an actual activity. There was also a runway before that, because the company had already been taking part in Disney festival events for more than a year before the cart arrived, so this is a relationship that has been building for a while.
The brand’s story is honestly one of the better origin stories in the souvenir business. According to coverage from the 2024 Downtown Disney opening, Kawaii Slime Company started in 2017, when a stressed-out mom found a hashtag on Instagram called oddlyfascinating. After a few messy trial runs, some family disagreements, and a lot of YouTube tutorials, the family’s love for slime was born. By 2019 it had become a full-time business. The company describes itself as woman-owned and mom-owned, and the word kawaii, if you have not run into it, is Japanese for cute, which the company has put into everything it makes.

There is also a mission behind the sparkle. Kawaii Slime Company says it wants to help every child with an interest in slime try to open their own slime shop, and it says it engages with young slime makers by offering advice and sometimes donating product. For a brand that sells something as squishy as slime, that is a pretty wholesome footnote.
So what could this mean for Disney Springs? Honestly, it fits. Disney Springs already leans heavily into shopping that doubles as an experience, from build-your-own items to treats you watch being made, and a slime shop is an easy hit with kids and plenty of adults who just like fidgeting with something satisfying while the rest of the family shops. It would also give guests one more reason to wander beyond the usual dining and shopping stops, especially on a hot Florida afternoon when an indoor activity sounds pretty good.
That said, I would hold off on planning a whole day around this until more details are announced. We still need an opening date, a location, and ideally a confirmation of what kind of space this will be, because those details will decide whether it is a quick photo stop or an actual destination.
We will update this post the moment Kawaii Slime Company shares an opening date or location, so check back with Theme Park Scope for the latest on what is coming to Disney Springs.
