A new adventure is coming to the Forbidden Forest!
Universal Studios Hollywood has announced a brand-new immersive experience inspired by the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, giving guests the chance to step deeper into the forest than ever before. Here’s what we know.
Universal Studios Hollywood has announced a new immersive walkthrough experience titled “Forbidden Forest: Search for the Hippogriff,” set to debut as part of its 2026 offerings.
The experience will take place within The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, one of the park’s most popular themed lands, which opened in 2016 and features attractions like Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Flight of the Hippogriff.
According to early details, the new experience will be a guided walkthrough adventure, where guests venture into the Forbidden Forest alongside a Hogwarts professor in search of a missing Hippogriff.
Throughout the experience, visitors can expect to encounter:
- Magical creatures from the Harry Potter universe
- A series of interactive moments and obstacles
- Story-driven elements tied to the search for the Hippogriff
The concept builds on the existing presence of the Hippogriff within the land, where guests can already ride Flight of the Hippogriff, a family-friendly coaster inspired by Hagrid’s Care of Magical Creatures lessons.
Unlike traditional attractions, this new offering appears to lean more heavily into interactive storytelling and walkthrough-style experiences, similar to other recent Universal additions that emphasize guest participation and immersion.
The experience is expected to debut as part of Universal Fan Fest Nights 2026, a separately ticketed after-hours event that highlights popular franchises through themed entertainment, character interactions, and limited-time offerings.
While Universal has not confirmed whether the experience will extend beyond the event, its addition reflects a broader trend toward expanding in-world storytelling within existing lands.
