One of Disney California Adventure’s most ambitious nighttime spectaculars is making a surprise comeback.
Disney has announced that World of Color — ONE will return to Disney California Adventure later this summer, marking the show’s first performances in approximately 15 months. The return comes as part of Disneyland Resort’s transition from its 70th Anniversary entertainment lineup into the Halloween season.
According to Disney, World of Color — ONE will return to Disney California Adventure beginning August 10 and continue performances through the Halloween season. The nighttime spectacular has not been performed since it was replaced by World of Color Happiness! as part of Disneyland Resort’s 70th Anniversary celebration entertainment lineup.
The return marks the first time guests will be able to experience World of Color — ONE in roughly 15 months.
A Disney100-Era Favorite
World of Color — ONE originally debuted at Disney California Adventure in January 2023 as part of Disney’s Disney100 celebration. The show featured inspirational storytelling centered on the idea that a single action can create a ripple effect capable of changing the world.
The nighttime spectacular included scenes and music from Disney Animation, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, and other Disney properties, all brought to life through the signature World of Color combination of fountains, projection effects, lighting, fire, and music.
Inside Out 2 Pre-Show Also Added in 2024
During its original run, Disney updated the production in June 2024 with a new pre-show titled Emotional Rollercoaster, celebrating the release of Pixar’s Inside Out 2. The pre-show was incorporated into the nighttime experience before the main World of Color — ONE presentation.
It has not yet been confirmed whether the pre-show will return alongside the main show when performances resume in August.
Disneyland’s Entertainment Lineup Continues to Evolve
The announcement comes as Disneyland Resort continues adjusting its entertainment schedule ahead of Halloween Time.
Disney recently confirmed that Paint the Night and Wondrous Journeys have both been extended through August 20, giving guests additional opportunities to experience Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary entertainment before seasonal offerings begin.
With World of Color — ONE now joining the lineup once again, Disney California Adventure guests will soon have the opportunity to experience one of the resort’s most popular nighttime spectaculars after more than a year away.
