Every so often a small Main Street detail turns out to have a genuinely remarkable story behind it.

And the new face behind the piano at Casey’s Corner is exactly that kind of find!

Carol has recently taken her place at the piano inside Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom, bringing ragtime classics and decades of musical experience to one of Main Street U.S.A.’s most recognizable little corners. And when we say decades, we mean it: Carol has been a Disney cast member for 36 years, and she’s been playing piano since she was four years old, after learning to read music at just two.

Even with that much experience behind her, Carol has said stepping into a brand-new role still comes with a bit of first-day-of-school energy (new songs to learn, old favorites to dust off, and a genuine excitement about sharing all of it with guests.)

Carol’s Disney career didn’t start at Casey’s Corner, or even close to it. A Central Florida native, her story with Disney began all the way back in 1990 at Pleasure Island’s Comedy Warehouse, where she performed nightly for years. From there, her musical resume grew to include some genuinely iconic Walt Disney World venues: the Rose & Crown Pub in EPCOT’s United Kingdom pavilion, EPCOT festival entertainment, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, and (by her own account, her favorite stop along the way) the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

Now, that decades-long musical journey has led her to Casey’s Corner, where she plays classic ragtime tunes alongside personal favorites, including music from composer Alan Menken’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

What stands out most about Carol’s story isn’t just the length of her career — it’s the philosophy she’s built around it! She’s said her goal has always been to bring joy to people through music, whether that means playing a guest’s favorite Disney song on request or introducing someone to a piece they’ve never heard before. She’s pointed specifically to Tinker Bell as her inspiration for that mission, describing the character as someone who fixes what’s broken and spreads a little joy and pixie dust along the way…which is exactly the spirit she hopes to bring to every guest who stops to listen at Casey’s Corner.

It’s easy to walk past Casey’s Corner focused entirely on the hot dogs and miss the live music happening a few feet away, but stories like Carol’s are a good reminder of just how much genuine talent and history is quietly built into even the smallest corners of Magic Kingdom. Thirty-six years is a genuinely rare tenure in any career, let alone one spent making guests smile one song at a time.

Next time you’re grabbing a hot dog on Main Street, it might be worth actually stopping to listen for a few minutes, you may be hearing more than three decades of Disney history playing right in front of you!
