Men In Black Alien Attack

After more than two weeks behind construction walls, MEN IN BLACK: Alien Attack has officially reopened at Universal Studios Florida. While the ride’s story and gameplay remain the same, guests returning to the attraction will find several refreshed effects, improved audio, and visual enhancements that help breathe new life into this Universal classic.

MEN IN BLACK: Alien Attack has officially reopened at Universal Studios Florida after a scheduled refurbishment that lasted from June 1 through June 16. The attraction welcomed guests back with a variety of updates designed to enhance the overall ride experience while preserving the fan-favorite interactive gameplay.

Although Universal did not make any major changes to the attraction’s storyline or ride system, returning guests will notice numerous refreshed show elements throughout the experience.

What’s New Inside the Attraction?

The refurbishment focused on improving several of the ride’s practical effects and show scenes.

Guests can expect:

  • New fog effects in the attraction’s first major scene.
  • Several new alien figures added throughout the ride.
  • Updated interactive targets used during the attraction’s competitive gameplay.
  • Paint touch-ups across multiple scenes and sets.
  • Improved audio quality, including refreshed and enhanced sound effects throughout the attraction.

While none of these updates dramatically change the ride itself, they help restore many of the practical effects that have made MEN IN BLACKâ„¢ Alien Attack one of Universal Studios Florida’s most replayable attractions.

A Universal Classic Gets Some Much-Needed TLC

Since opening in 2000, MEN IN BLACK: Alien Attack has remained one of Universal Orlando Resort’s signature interactive attractions.

Located in the World Expo section of Universal Studios Florida, the ride recruits guests as Men in Black trainees tasked with defending Earth from an alien invasion. Riders compete by using laser blasters to hit hundreds of targets throughout the attraction while trying to earn the highest possible score.

With spinning ride vehicles, multiple endings, practical sets, animatronics, and interactive gameplay, the attraction has developed a loyal following over the past two decades.

In recent years, Universal Orlando has invested heavily in new attractions and experiences, especially with the opening of Epic Universe. However, the resort has also continued refreshing many of its classic attractions to keep them looking and performing their best.

The end of the ride

Rather than reinventing MEN IN BLACK: Alien Attack, this refurbishment appears focused on enhancing the ride’s existing strengths by improving effects guests may not have even realized had faded over time.

The updated fog, refreshed audio, and improved show scenes help make the attraction feel more immersive without changing the experience longtime fans already love.

Time to Defend the Galaxy Again

If you haven’t ridden MEN IN BLACK: Alien Attack in a while, now may be the perfect time to return.

Whether you’re chasing that elusive 999,999 high score or simply introducing someone to one of Universal’s most entertaining interactive dark rides, the refreshed effects make this a great time to climb aboard.
