If you’re visiting Walt Disney World today, be prepared — dangerous heat is expected to make it feel as hot as 107 degrees.

Guests heading to Walt Disney World today should take extra precautions as the National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory covering all four Disney parks and the surrounding Central Florida area.
The advisory remains in effect from 11 AM until 7 PM today, June 18, with heat index values expected to climb as high as 107 degrees in the Orlando area. Across East Central Florida, “feels-like” temperatures could range between 105 and 111 degrees, creating potentially dangerous conditions for anyone spending extended time outdoors.

The advisory includes Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Forecasters are calling for actual high temperatures in the mid-to-upper 90s, but Florida’s high humidity will make conditions feel significantly hotter. The National Weather Service has also classified today’s conditions as a Major (Level 3) Heat Risk, meaning the heat can affect anyone who doesn’t have access to adequate cooling or hydration.
Storms Could Arrive Later Today
In addition to the dangerous heat, scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop throughout the afternoon and evening.

The forecast includes the potential for frequent lightning, heavy rainfall, and wind gusts up to 55 mph.
Orlando currently carries around a 50% chance of rain, with the greatest storm potential expected later in the day. Guests planning to enjoy outdoor attractions may want to prioritize those experiences during the morning hours before storms begin developing.
Tips for Staying Safe at Walt Disney World
If you’re spending the day in the parks, the National Weather Service recommends:
- Drink water before you feel thirsty.
- Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
- Take frequent breaks in air-conditioned attractions, restaurants, and shops.
- Watch for signs of heat exhaustion, including dizziness, nausea, weakness, and heavy sweating.
- Seek emergency medical attention immediately if someone shows signs of heat stroke, such as confusion or loss of consciousness.
