It’s finally happening!

Disney

After months of construction, previews, and media events, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring The Muppets has officially begun soft openings today at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

UPDATE: Guests have confirmed that the soft-open to all guests has closed for the day, and the only guests allowed into the queue for the remaining rides are through DVC previews.

Guests visiting the park this morning were able to experience the newly reimagined attraction ahead of its official opening as Disney quietly welcomed riders aboard the updated coaster.

The updated attraction replaces Aerosmith with Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, bringing an entirely new storyline, music, pre-show elements, easter eggs, and updated environments to the longtime Hollywood Studios coaster.

Guests entering the attraction now experience a brand-new Muppets pre-show, updated ride audio and soundtrack, new Electric Mayhem storyline elements, Muppets-themed signage and décor, new easter eggs throughout the queue, updated lighting and projection effects, and reimagined ride scenes and environments.

The surrounding courtyard area has also received extensive updates, including new background music loops and the recently transformed Rock Around the Shop gift shop, filled with Electric Mayhem merchandise and Muppets-inspired collectibles.

Soft openings are typically used by Disney to test attraction operations under normal guest conditions ahead of an official opening, meaning availability can change at any time throughout the day.
