Okay, Annual Passholders — here’s EXACTLY what you need to know before trying to ride Disney’s new Muppets coaster!

Disney

Disney has officially launched virtual queue access for Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets during Annual Passholder previews taking place from May 21 through May 23 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. And these boarding groups are probably going to disappear FAST!

Annual Passholders hoping to experience the attraction early will need to use the My Disney Experience app to join the virtual queue. Disney is using a boarding group system instead of a traditional standby line during previews.

Disney

Here’s the step-by-step process:

Step 1: Make Sure You Have a Valid Park Reservation

To join the virtual queue, guests must:

  • Be an eligible Walt Disney World Annual Passholder
  • Have valid admission linked to My Disney Experience
  • Hold a park reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios on the preview date

Without all three, the app will not allow you to enter the queue.

Step 2: Open My Disney Experience BEFORE Queue Time

Guests should open the My Disney Experience app several minutes before the virtual queue opens.

Disney

Inside the app:

  • Tap the hamburger menu (☰)
  • Select “Virtual Queues”
  • Choose Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets
  • Confirm your party members

Disney recommends making sure all members of your party are linked beforehand to avoid delays.

And honestly? Every second matters with these Disney virtual queues.

Step 3: Join at Exactly 7 AM, 11 AM, or 3 PM

Disney is offering two daily virtual queue distribution times during previews:

  • 7 AM
  • 11 AM
  • 3 PM

All three queues can be joined from anywhere — guests do NOT need to be inside Hollywood Studios at that time.

Once your boarding group is called, Disney will notify you through the app when it’s time to return to the attraction.

Preview Dates Run May 21 Through May 23

The Annual Passholder previews are happening May 21 through May 23 ahead of the attraction’s official grand opening on May 26.

Disney

The reimagined attraction replaces Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith with a brand-new Muppets storyline featuring Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem, new ride vehicles, updated queue spaces, multiple soundtracks, celebrity cameos, tons of hidden Muppets Easter eggs, and new animatronics and effects.

Disney fans have already been heavily tracking preview details online, and expectations are VERY high for the attraction’s debut.

Expect Boarding Groups To Go QUICKLY

If recent Disney preview events are any indication, guests should expect boarding groups to disappear almost instantly — especially during the 7 AM distribution window.

Disney

Disney fans already know the drill:

  • Use strong Wi-Fi or cellular service
  • Refresh carefully
  • Confirm your party early
  • Have the app updated beforehand
  • Be ready BEFORE the clock changes to 7 AM
