One of Walt Disney World’s most-used planning tools just became even more convenient.

Disney

Disney has released a new update for the My Disney Experience app that allows guests to make and manage theme park reservations directly within the app for the first time.

The change eliminates the need to leave the app and visit a separate webpage, making the reservation process significantly more streamlined for Walt Disney World guests planning future visits.

Prior to this update, guests who wanted to make, modify, or review theme park reservations were redirected from My Disney Experience to a mobile web browser experience.

With the latest update, Disney has integrated the reservation system directly into the app itself.

Guests can now access park reservations through the app’s main menu, where they can view existing reservations, check availability, and make new reservations without leaving My Disney Experience.

The update creates a more seamless experience and reduces the number of steps required when planning a Walt Disney World vacation.

A Familiar Process With a New Look

While the reservation functionality remains largely the same, the presentation has been updated to match the rest of the My Disney Experience interface.

Guests can select their travel party, choose available dates, and review reservation availability through the app’s native design rather than being redirected to an external webpage.

The new interface also makes it easier to navigate between reservations and other planning tools available within My Disney Experience.

Reservations Are Still Required for Some Guests

Although standard date-based Walt Disney World tickets no longer require park reservations, reservations are still necessary in certain situations.

Disney

Annual Passholders continue to require reservations on many dates, subject to Walt Disney World’s current passholder reservation policies and good-to-go days.

The update is particularly useful for Annual Passholders who frequently make and adjust park reservations throughout the year.

Another Step Toward a More Integrated App Experience

Disney has spent the last several years expanding the functionality of My Disney Experience, turning it into the primary hub for vacation planning, Lightning Lane purchases, Mobile Order, resort management, park navigation, and entertainment schedules.

Bringing park reservations directly into the app is the latest example of Disney consolidating more planning tools into a single experience.

For guests, that means fewer redirects, fewer browser windows, and a simpler way to manage Walt Disney World plans on the go.

While the update may seem small, it’s one that many Walt Disney World visitors and Annual Passholders have been requesting for years.
