It’s finally happening…and it looks VERY different.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring the Muppets

The scrim is officially coming down around the iconic guitar at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and we’re getting our first real look at its brand-new, colorful paint job.

What used to be the classic red Aerosmith guitar is now being transformed into a bright, psychedelic design that’s clearly inspired by the Muppets’ Electric Mayhem aesthetic.

And honestly? It’s a massive change.

The updated guitar features bold, multi-colored stripes and gradients, a more playful, almost cartoon-like finish, and bright accents (including stars) that match the Muppets’ chaotic energy.

This redesign is part of the ongoing transformation of the attraction into Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, replacing the long-running Aerosmith theme.

Disney previously confirmed the guitar would get a completely new look tied to the Electric Mayhem band, and this repaint is bringing that concept to life in a BIG way.

The fact that the scrim is already coming down is a huge sign of progress.

Crews have been working quickly on both the guitar repainting and the full exterior refresh of the building, and we’ve even seen a glimpse of what will await us inside the building throughout the ride’s queue.

And with more details now visible, it’s clear we’re entering the final stretch of exterior updates.

Disney

When it reopens, the ride will feature a brand-new storyline starring The Electric Mayhem, updated music and scenes, and new pre-show elements and characters, but this guitar might be one of the most noticeable changes guests see immediately.

This is one of the boldest visual changes Disney has made to an existing attraction in a long time.

If you’ve been waiting to see what the Muppets takeover would actually look like, this is your first real answer. Stay tuned, because as more construction walls come down, we’re about to see even more of this transformation come to life.
