If your family is a little bit obsessed with baseball that has dancing, trick plays, and a fan catching a foul ball to record an out…I have great news!

Banana Ball is coming back to Walt Disney World, and this time the dates are officially locked in: April 15 to 18, 2027.

That makes it the second straight year Banana Ball has landed at Disney, and the games will be held at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, a sprawling 260-plus acre complex. The 2027 schedule was revealed on the Banana Ball City Selection Show, which aired live on ESPN2 and the Banana Ball YouTube channel.

All six teams are making the trip: the Savannah Bananas, Firefighters, Party Animals, Loco Beach Coconuts, Indianapolis Clowns, and Texas Tailgaters. Four of those teams will compete in the Banana Ball Open, and the top four teams play inside The Stadium, which has more than 9,500 seats, four luxury sky boxes, and open-air suites. For reference, last year’s Disney matchup was the Party Animals versus the Loco Beach Coconuts, so this is a fun way to see how the next round plays out.

If you’ve never watched a game, here’s the quick version. Banana Ball is a fast-paced spin on traditional baseball with some wonderfully odd rules. A fan who catches a foul ball records an out, and players can even try to steal first base. Add trick plays, diving catches, dancing, and on-field antics, and you have a high-energy afternoon that is fun for families and friends, whether you’re a die-hard baseball fan or just along for the show.

Now for the most important part, which is how to get tickets. This is a lottery, and the deadline is coming up fast. The Ticket Lottery List is open at BananaBall.com and closes at 11:50 PM EST on October 31. Entering doesn’t guarantee a purchase. Entrants are placed in a random drawing before the event, and winners are contacted directly with your next steps. Here are the prices:

  • Standard tickets start at $35
  • Meet and Greet tickets start at $100 each, with no hidden fees and no tax

A quick planning thought for families: because the tickets are handled by lottery, it’s worth entering as soon as you can instead of waiting for the final day, and it helps to decide ahead of time how many seats your group needs. The Meet and Greet tickets are a nice option if you have kids who would love to see the players up close, and the standard tickets are an easy way to bring a bigger group along. Since games take place across the four days, you can also build the rest of your trip around the schedule once you know whether your name is drawn.

If premium hospitality is more your style, you can sign up for updates on ESPN premium hospitality options at espnwwos.com. And if you can’t make it to Florida, free games stream on the teams’ YouTube channels, so you can still join the fun from the couch.

I love that Disney keeps leaning into this. Banana Ball is the kind of sports event that makes people who don’t care about sports show up and have a blast, and that’s exactly what you want from a family-friendly weekend. I like that the lottery gives everyone a fair shot, and I like that the tickets start at $35, which is very reasonable for something this fun. If you’re even a little curious, enter the lottery before October 31, because there’s no downside to trying. And if you do get tickets, I’d love to hear who you’re rooting for.
