If you thought Banana Ball and Disney World were a perfect match, night one proved it.

The first-ever Banana Ball game at Walt Disney World officially took over ESPN Wide World of Sports on May 29, and the result was everything fans could have hoped for — Disney characters, dancing, crowd participation, music, surprises, and a dramatic walk-off finish.
When the final out was recorded, the Loco Beach Coconuts defeated the Party Animals 4-3, but honestly, the score was only part of the story.
The Party Started Before the First Pitch
Long before the first batter stepped into the box, fans inside The Stadium were already on their feet.

Banana Ball’s signature pregame entertainment was in full force, featuring magic tricks, a lively hula-inspired dance performance, crowd participation games, and a stadium-wide warm-up to “Baby Shark.”
The atmosphere felt less like a traditional baseball game and more like a full-scale Disney entertainment offering mixed with a sporting event. This is exactly why Banana Ball has become such a phenomenon!
Stitch Crashed the Party
The Disney surprises started almost immediately.

At the end of the first inning, guests were treated to a special appearance by Stitch, who entered to the sounds of Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride. The crowd erupted as the beloved Disney character joined the Banana Ball festivities, creating one of the night’s first viral-worthy moments.
The appearance felt perfectly on-brand for both Disney and Banana Ball, blending unexpected character interactions with the league’s trademark energy and humor.
Mickey and Minnie Make Banana Ball History
One of the biggest moments of the night arrived later in the game during Banana Ball’s famous “Hey Baby” singalong.
As thousands of fans joined in, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse suddenly appeared and became part of the celebration.

The moment marked the pair’s first official Banana Ball appearance together at Walt Disney World.
While Mickey and Minnie have gained significant attention for similar appearances during Banana Ball events at Disneyland Resort over the last two years, seeing the iconic duo join the action in Florida brought an entirely new level of excitement to the crowd.
The Stadium instantly came alive as fans realized what was happening. It felt like one of those uniquely Disney moments that people will be talking about long after the game is over.
A Dramatic Finish
Of course, there was still a baseball game to play!
After eight innings of bat flips, dancing umpires, crowd interaction, trick plays, and all-around Banana Ball chaos, the Party Animals found themselves just three outs away from victory. But the Loco Beach Coconuts weren’t finished.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, the Coconuts mounted a furious comeback that culminated in a walk-off two-run double with one out, securing a dramatic 4-3 victory and sending the home crowd into celebration.
The ending was exactly the kind of over-the-top finish Banana Ball fans have come to expect.
Night Two Still Awaits
While the Loco Beach Coconuts may have claimed victory on opening night, the series isn’t over yet.
The two-game Disney World event concludes on May 30, and if the first night proved anything, it’s that absolutely anything can happen once Banana Ball comes to town.

Whether it’s surprise Disney character appearances, unexpected crowd moments, dancing players, or dramatic finishes, fans heading to ESPN Wide World of Sports for the second game should expect even more surprises. After a night that included Stitch, Mickey, Minnie, and a walk-off victory, we’re not even going to pretend we know what’s coming next!
