I would like to apologize in advance to every Disney photographer who has ever tried to take my family’s picture.

In every single one, someone is mid-blink, someone is mid-sneeze, and I am usually the one explaining a joke nobody asked for. So, naturally, I have strong feelings about paying for the privilege of downloading those photos.
Walt Disney World raised the price of Memory Maker One Day on October 6. Here is the full breakdown, and I promise the news is not as bad as the headline sounds.
- Memory Maker, purchased at least three days before your trip: $185, unchanged.
- Memory Maker, purchased during or after your trip: $210, unchanged.
- Memory Maker One Day: $85, up from $75.
So only one tier moved, and it moved by $10. For context, back in October 2023, Disney raised the advance price from $169 to $185, the standard price from $199 to $210, and the One Day option from $69 to $75, so those $185 and $210 prices have held for a while now.

A quick refresher, because I know not everybody has bought it before. Disney’s PhotoPass photographers are available at more than 175 locations, and using the service is free. If you want to download your photos without a watermark, though, you need Memory Maker. This add-on feature lets you download every photo the PhotoPass service takes of you, your family, and friends during your vacation. The One Day version covers all your photos from a single day.
Now for the math, because this is where the increase really matters.
Before this change, buying Memory Maker One Day for two days of your trip cost $150, which was $35 cheaper than the $185 advance package. Now, two One Day purchases cost $170, so the savings shrank to $15. If you buy three One Days, you pay $255, which is $70 more than the advance Memory Maker, and the gap only gets bigger from there. In plain terms, One Day still makes sense if you truly only want photos from one or two days. If you think there is any real chance you will want them from three, the advance package is the better bet.
Here is how I would think about it.
If you are visiting for one day, or you are only attending a special event like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Memory Maker One Day is still the simplest option.

If you will be at the parks for a few days, buy the advance Memory Maker at least three days before you arrive. It is the same price it has always been, and it saves you $25 compared to buying it during your trip.
Do not buy One Day on the first morning of your trip if you think you might want photos later. Once you have spent $85, you cannot go back and get the $185 advance price, so you could end up paying more than if you had planned ahead.
If you are an eligible service member or spouse, Disney’s PhotoPass page currently lists a special Memory Maker price of $98 through December 18, 2026. If you read our Veterans Day post, that is another way Disney is recognizing military families this season.
And here is a free tip that I love: if you just want a picture of your whole group, you can always ask a PhotoPass photographer if they would take one with your own phone. It is not guaranteed, but they are often happy to help, and a kind request goes a long way.
This also fits a bigger pattern we saw this week. Walt Disney World raised Annual Pass prices and some ticket prices, left multi-day tickets and parking alone, and added a few small increases around the edges. Memory Maker’s change is on the smaller end of the scale. It is the kind of change that most people will never notice unless they buy One Day at the last minute, and that is exactly who will feel it.

Is Memory Maker worth it for everyone? Honestly, no. It depends on how many photos you actually plan to download, how many days you will be in the parks, and whether your group is the type that will pose for a Magic Shot at every stop. But if you do want the photos, the plan is simple: decide early, and buy in advance.
