Disney just dropped a single line into an official PhotoPass guide that’s got fans wondering if more personalized ride photos are headed to Walt Disney World

Disney

…and honestly, it’s a pretty subtle way to tease something big.

Sometimes Disney announces things with fireworks and a press event. Other times, it slips a line into a routine guide and just…moves on. This is very much the second kind.

Buried inside Disney’s official Guide to PhotoPass at Disney World is a section on ride photos, where Disney specifically calls out Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets as attractions with personalized PhotoPass moments. On Buzz, your actual in-ride score and rank show up printed on your photo. On Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, guests get a variety of concert-inspired poster designs instead of a generic shot. Right after describing both, the guide adds one line that’s since caught fans’ attention: “And even more PhotoPass attraction magic is on its way…stay tuned!”

That’s it. That’s the entire tease. No ride names, no timeline, no hint at what “more” actually means. But it’s exactly the kind of vague, forward-looking phrase Disney tends to use right before it actually announces something, so it’s reasonable to read this as a genuine signal rather than empty marketing copy.

If you’ve never noticed Disney doing this with ride photos before, it’s actually a slower rollout than you might expect. PhotoPass has been capturing generic on-ride photos for years at attractions across all four parks, but genuinely personalized photos, ones that reflect what actually happened on your specific ride, are still a fairly new addition. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin got its score-and-rank treatment as part of this year’s attraction refresh, and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster’s poster variations rolled out more recently too. Two attractions getting this treatment in the same year suggests Disney’s actively building toward making it a bigger, more standard feature across the resort, not just a one-off gimmick tied to a specific refurbishment.

So which rides could be next? Nothing’s confirmed, but it’s worth thinking through which attractions would even make sense for this kind of personalization. A ride like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad doesn’t generate a score or a narrative branch the way Buzz does, so a personalized photo there would probably lean more into a themed overlay than a stat readout. Haunted Mansion already has its own PhotoPass moment, added back in 2019, so an update there wouldn’t be entirely out of the question either, especially with Villains Land generating fresh interest in that whole corner of Magic Kingdom lately. Realistically, any Disney attraction that already tracks a guest’s choices or performance mid-ride, the way Buzz does, is the most logical next candidate, since Disney already has the technical groundwork in place to pull it off.

It’s also worth remembering this entire PhotoPass system is included with Memory Maker, so if Disney does expand personalized photos to more rides, it’s not likely to come with some separate new charge tacked onto your existing photo package. That’s speculation too, to be clear, but it lines up with how Disney has bundled these features so far.

Disney hasn’t given a timeline or named specific attractions, so for now this is genuinely a “stay tuned” situation rather than a confirmed announcement. But a hint like this rarely shows up in an official guide for no reason, so it’s worth keeping an eye on.
