Atlantic Dance Hall is hanging up its disco ball. After nearly 30 years on the BoardWalk, its regular Friday-Saturday-Sunday nights are coming to an end.
If dancing until 1 AM under a disco ball with a Crescent Lake view is on your Disney World bucket list, you’ve got exactly one weekend left to make it happen.
Atlantic Dance Hall will run its last regular public weekend September 25 through 27, 2026, open 8 PM to 1 AM each night, no cover, 21 and up. Starting October 1, the venue stops its normal weekend operations for good and shifts to private bookings only, available through Disney Meetings & Events and Disney Fairy Tale Weddings.
The timing isn’t a coincidence. That same day, October 1, Hurly-Burly officially opens right next door in the space that used to be Jellyrolls. Disney is describing Hurly-Burly as a dual-concept venue that works as a family-friendly hangout during the day and shifts into a 21-and-up lounge with live music once the sun goes down. Concept art shows a more laid-back cocktail-lounge feel than a dance floor, so don’t expect it to be a direct swap for what Atlantic Dance Hall offered.
And honestly, that’s the part that stings a little for BoardWalk regulars. Atlantic Dance Hall opened with the resort in 1996, styled after the grand coastal dance halls of Atlantic City and Coney Island, with a two-story art deco interior and a genuinely huge dance floor. It leaned into throwback music and dancing early on, then drifted toward more current music over the years, but the DJ, the video screens, the disco ball, and the surprisingly cheap drinks stayed a constant. It became a go-to after Pleasure Island closed in 2008, and for a lot of bachelor and bachelorette parties, it was the unofficial last stop after an EPCOT night.
This isn’t the only shakeup coming to the BoardWalk, either. Disney has also announced Basin on the BoardWalk, a soap shop replacing the old Promenade Fine Art Gallery, plus a yet-to-be-named quick service spot taking over the long-closed Big River Grille & Brewing Works. Add those to recent openings like The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant, The Cake Bake Shop Bakery, and Blue Ribbon Corn Dog, and it’s clear Disney is actively reworking this stretch of the BoardWalk rather than letting it sit as-is.
For now, Atlantic Dance Hall isn’t disappearing completely, it’s just no longer walk-up-and-dance accessible. If you want one more night there, you’ve got September 25, 26, or 27 before the doors close to everyday guests for good.
