Of course it was this date. Of all the nights on the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party calendar, the one scheduled closest to actual Christmas Day was always going to be the one everybody wanted…

…and right on cue, it’s now gone.

Tuesday, December 22, the final party night of the 2026 season and the closest scheduled date to Christmas Day itself, has officially sold out. That makes it the second date to reach capacity this season, following November 24, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, which became the first sellout back on September 28.

Here’s a detail worth sitting with for a second: for the past two years running, opening night was always the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party date to sell out. This year broke that pattern entirely, with November 24 selling out first instead, while opening night on November 8 is, as of this writing, still available. That’s a genuinely interesting shift in buying behavior, and it suggests families are increasingly building their party night around personal travel timing, like a Thanksgiving week visit, rather than just grabbing the earliest available date on the calendar out of habit.

If you caught our coverage of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party selling down to its final date, you’ll appreciate this comparison: the entire Halloween party season sold out completely before this Christmas party recorded even a single sellout. Two very different pacing stories for two very similar after-hours events, and yet here we are, watching the Christmas side catch up fast now that the calendar’s turned to October.

For context on the full picture, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party runs across 25 select nights this season, from November 8 through December 22. Here’s where things currently stand:

November dates: 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 25, 27, and 29 remain available. November 24 is sold out.

December dates: 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18, and 20 remain available. December 22 is sold out.

That leaves 23 of the original 25 dates still on sale, so this is very much not a full sellout situation yet, just two specific, high-demand nights already gone. Ticket prices range from $189 to $229 depending on the date, with December 22 having priced at the very top of that range, which, combined with its calendar positioning, made it something of a predictable target for an early sellout. Kids ages 3 through 9 save $10 per ticket on every party night, though it’s worth knowing that Annual Passholder discounts aren’t guaranteed across every date, since November 24 specifically didn’t carry one.

The party itself runs from 7 PM to midnight, with ticket holders able to enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4 PM to get settled in before the after-hours festivities kick off. This year’s season also continues building on last November’s addition of a Villains Pre-Parade happening during regular daytime hours, ahead of the holiday parade itself, giving guests even more reason to treat party day as a full day rather than just an evening event.

If you’ve had your eye on a specific date, especially anything close to a major travel holiday like Thanksgiving week or the stretch right before Christmas, the lesson from this season so far is pretty clear: those dates are going first, and they’re going fast. Once a Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party date sells out, it essentially never comes back, so waiting to see if a sold-out night somehow reopens is not a strategy worth betting your holiday trip on.

If you’re still deciding which night works best for your family, or you want help figuring out which remaining date lines up with the rest of your Walt Disney World trip, Adventure Awaits Travel Company offers free trip-planning services that can help you lock in a date and make sure the rest of your holiday visit comes together around it.

We’ll keep tracking sellouts as they happen for the rest of the 2026 season, so check back with Theme Park Scope before your preferred date disappears too.
