Disney+ raised prices on some subscription tiers this year, and I’ll admit that stung a little.

Marvel

But every time I start to grumble about it, Disney turns around and tucks another small perk into the subscription that makes the whole thing feel worth it again, and this latest one is a genuinely fun addition for anyone who’s ever wanted to get into comics but didn’t know where to start.

Disney+ subscribers can now claim a free Amazing Spider-Man starter pack of digital comics through Marvel Unlimited. The offer is only available through October 4, so if free comics sound even remotely appealing, don’t let this one sit in your inbox too long before claiming it.

What actually makes this perk worth grabbing is the lineup itself. Rather than just tossing subscribers a handful of random issues, this starter pack reads like an actual crash course in Spider-Man history, pulling one landmark issue from five different eras of the character. You get The Amazing Spider-Man (1963) #1, the very first appearance of the character in his own ongoing series, alongside The Amazing Spider-Man (1999) #546, (2015) #1, (2018) #1, and (2025) #1. If you’ve ever wanted to understand how differently Spider-Man has been written and drawn across six decades of Marvel history without committing to reading hundreds of back issues, this free pack is basically built for exactly that.

This isn’t an isolated freebie, either. Disney+ has quietly been building out a genuinely solid rotating perks program throughout 2026, and this comic pack is just the newest addition to a list that’s grown substantially over the past few months. Earlier this month, subscribers could claim an early unlock of the new Yellow Variant suit in Marvel’s Wolverine, the PlayStation 5-exclusive game following Logan as he investigates the abduction of displaced mutants. Around that same time, Disney+ also offered a $10 Fandango promo code toward a ticket for Avengers: Endgame Encore, the limited theatrical re-release that added four extra minutes of footage, including a new post-credit scene tying directly into Avengers: Doomsday.

Beyond the Marvel-specific perks, Disney+ has also been offering subscribers a free six-month DashPass subscription for new DoorDash users, a free six-month trial of Calm Premium for anyone looking to build better sleep or stress-management habits, and a three-month trial of Spotify Premium. There’s also a recurring monthly perk for digital collectors: a Disney Pinnacle by Dapper Labs Mystery Capsule, which comes with an Open Edition digital pin included every single month at no extra cost.

Taken together, this is a genuinely wide spread of perks for a single subscription to be handing out, especially when you consider most of them aren’t one-time offers but recurring or rotating benefits that keep showing up throughout the year. If you’ve been on the fence about whether your Disney+ subscription is still worth the price after this year’s increases, it’s worth actually checking what’s currently available under the perks section of the app rather than assuming you’re just paying for streaming access alone.

Here’s the part that trips a lot of subscribers up, though: these perks aren’t always easy to find if you’re not specifically looking for them. They tend to live in a dedicated Perks section inside the Disney+ app rather than being advertised anywhere obvious on the home screen, which means plenty of subscribers are likely missing out on free comics, trial subscriptions, and discount codes simply because they didn’t know to go looking. If you’ve never checked that section before, it’s worth taking two minutes to open the app and see what’s currently available on your account.

Given that this specific comics offer expires October 4, this is a good moment to go ahead and check your account for it directly, along with anything else currently live that you might have missed. Perks like this tend to rotate out quietly once their window closes, with little warning before they’re replaced by whatever comes next.

We’ll keep tracking new Disney+ perks as they roll out, so check back with Theme Park Scope to make sure you’re not leaving free stuff on the table.
