Walt Disney World’s Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month celebration got a boost this year from Puerto Rican superstar Luis Fonsi, who stopped by to experience the festivities firsthand.
If you’ve walked through EPCOT lately and caught a little extra music in the air, this is exactly why.
Walt Disney World is running its Together We Are Magia celebration for Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month from September 15 through October 15, 2026, bringing music, entertainment, and themed experiences across the resort. Fonsi’s visit doubled as a nice showcase of what the celebration actually includes: he experienced ¡Celebración Encanto! at EPCOT, meeting Mirabel and Bruno and taking in music and dancing from the Storytellers and Primos, rode his favorite attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and met his favorite Disney character, Mickey Mouse. Fonsi described the experience warmly, saying it’s an honor to celebrate his Puerto Rican roots alongside families from around the world.
The music lineup is arguably the centerpiece of the whole celebration. EPCOT’s Eat to the Beat Concert Series is running a run of Latin American acts through the month: Latin Ambition September 15 through 17, Grupo Mania September 20 and 21, Metro Latino Band September 22 through 24, Rey Ruiz October 5 and 6, and Viva Latina closing things out October 9 through 11. Over at Magic Kingdom, the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade is featuring characters with deep ties to Hispanic and Latin American stories and folklore, including Mirabel from Encanto, Miguel from Coco, Princess Elena of Avalor, and the classic Three Caballeros duo José Carioca and Panchito. Disney resort guests get their own version of the celebration too, with select Movies Under the Stars screenings incorporating Hispanic and Latin American storytelling, music, dance, and film.
On the merchandise side, Disney and Pixar’s Coco is getting its own themed collection built around family, music, and tradition, including a Miguel mug, a floral tee, and an alebrije-inspired headband. It’s a nice tie-in for a movie that already leans so heavily into the same themes the celebration is built around.
What stands out about this year’s lineup is how much of it draws on stories Disney has already told rather than treating the celebration as separate programming layered on top of the parks. Encanto, Coco, and Elena of Avalor aren’t guest additions here, they’re the backbone of the whole thing, which makes Together We Are Magia feel less like a marketing campaign and more like Disney pulling its own catalog forward to actually mean something for the month.
