Five years after White Vision flew away from Westview, we’re finally about to find out where he went.
Marvel Studios just pulled back the curtain on one of its most mysterious upcoming Disney+ projects during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, debuting the first trailer for VisionQuest and confirming exactly when the new Marvel Television series will arrive.
Paul Bettany is officially back as Vision when VisionQuest premieres October 14, 2026, exclusively on Disney+.
And if you thought Vision’s story ended with WandaVision, think again.
The first trailer for VisionQuest debuted during the Disney Entertainment Showcase at D23, finally giving Marvel fans their first substantial look at the series.
The show picks up the story of White Vision, the version of Vision introduced during WandaVision.
At the end of that series, White Vision confronted Wanda’s version of Vision before having his suppressed memories restored. He then abruptly flew away…and Marvel has left us wondering where he went ever since.
VisionQuest will finally provide some answers.
The series follows Vision as he attempts to understand his identity, his memories, and what it means for him to be human.
Ultron Is BACK
Vision isn’t the only familiar face returning.
James Spader is officially back as Ultron, reprising the role he first played in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
But VisionQuest is doing something particularly interesting with the character.
The trailer reveals Ultron not only in his familiar robotic form, but also with a human appearance portrayed by Spader himself.
And Ultron isn’t the only artificial intelligence from Marvel’s past entering Vision’s story.
The series brings several familiar MCU AI programs together, including J.A.R.V.I.S., F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., D.U.M-E, and U.
Rather than simply existing as voices or computer programs, several of these characters appear as human-like manifestations inside Vision’s mind.
We’re Going Inside Vision’s Mind
One of the most intriguing elements revealed in the trailer is how VisionQuest plans to visualize Vision’s consciousness.
His mind is represented as a mansion, with different artificial intelligence programs appearing as inhabitants inside it.
James D’Arcy returns as J.A.R.V.I.S., while Orla Brady portrays F.R.I.D.A.Y. and Emily Hampshire appears as E.D.I.T.H.
It’s a pretty fascinating way to explore Vision’s history.
Remember, Vision himself was partially created from J.A.R.V.I.S., Tony Stark’s artificial intelligence, while the Mind Stone ultimately helped bring him to life. Ultron also played a major role in Vision’s creation, meaning bringing all of these artificial intelligences together could force Vision to confront exactly where he came from.
Tommy Maximoff Is Part of the Story, Too
There’s another major connection to WandaVision.
Tommy Maximoff is returning.
Ruaridh Mollica plays Thomas Shepherd/Tommy Maximoff, one of Wanda and Vision’s sons.
That immediately connects VisionQuest to the events of both WandaVision and Agatha All Along, where Tommy’s twin brother Billy Maximoff (also known as Wiccan) became a major part of the story.
Exactly how Tommy and Vision’s stories collide remains to be seen, but their relationship appears poised to become an important part of the series.
‘VisionQuest’ Completes the ‘WandaVision’ Trilogy
VisionQuest isn’t being treated as an entirely standalone Marvel series.
Marvel has described it as the concluding chapter of a trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along.
That makes this particularly significant for fans who have been following Wanda Maximoff’s corner of the MCU since WandaVision debuted in 2021.
WandaVision introduced White Vision and Wanda and Vision’s children. Agatha All Along continued Billy Maximoff’s story. Now, VisionQuest turns the focus back toward Vision while bringing Tommy into the picture.
Whether all of those threads eventually lead back to Wanda herself remains one of the biggest unanswered questions.
When Can You Watch VisionQuest?
Thankfully, the wait isn’t going to be much longer.
Marvel Television’s VisionQuest premieres Wednesday, October 14, 2026, exclusively on Disney+.
With Paul Bettany back as Vision, James Spader returning as Ultron, Tommy Maximoff entering the story, and a collection of familiar MCU artificial intelligences coming together, this could end up being one of Marvel’s strangest (and most intriguing) Disney+ series yet.
And after waiting five years to find out where White Vision disappeared to, we’re more than ready for some answers.
