Disney is opening the door to an entirely new magical world this fall, and D23 just gave us another peek inside!

While familiar names like Frozen III and Zootopia 3 are getting plenty of attention at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Walt Disney Animation Studios is also showing off its next completely original animated adventure: Hexed.

New concept artwork and displays from the upcoming film have appeared at D23, offering a closer look at Billie Doe, the strange and colorful world of Hexe, and several of the magical characters she’ll encounter along the way.

And unlike some of Disney’s other D23 reveals, we won’t have to wait years to see this one on the big screen.

Hexed arrives in theaters November 25, 2026.

Guests exploring the Walt Disney Animation Studios area on the D23 show floor can find an entire display dedicated to Hexed.

The exhibit features new concept artwork from the movie, giving fans a closer look at the environments and characters that make up its magical world.

One of the most striking pieces showcases the fantastical realm of Hexe, where magic runs free and Billie finds herself transported after discovering that what once made her feel different may actually be something much more extraordinary.

The artwork continues the vibrant, whimsical fantasy aesthetic we’ve seen throughout the film’s development, with exaggerated architecture, colorful environments, and plenty of magical details packed into the world.

At the center of Hexed is Billie Doe, an impulsive teenage outsider who has always struggled to fit in.

But there’s a reason Billie has always felt a little different.

She discovers that the qualities others have dismissed as “weird” are actually connected to hidden magical abilities.

That discovery eventually transports Billie and her mother into Hexe, a secret world where magic can run free.

Billie is voiced by Hailee Steinfeld, adding another major Disney role to the actress’s résumé after voicing Gwen Stacy in the Spider-Verse films and playing Kate Bishop in Marvel’s Hawkeye.

The D23 display gives guests another close-up look at Billie’s character design along with artwork exploring the magical environments surrounding her.

Billie isn’t alone in this strange new world.

D23 has also given us a better look at Beef Roger Crummchuck, a bizarre three-eyed cat-like creature who already looks poised to become one of the movie’s scene-stealers.

Disney also revealed at D23 that Walton Goggins will voice Beef Roger Crummchuck. Another important character highlighted on the show floor is Elias Quire, a talking magical book.

D23 guests can actually get a closer look at Elias as part of the Hexed display, alongside additional concept artwork and recreations inspired by locations from the movie.

And there’s another major name joining the cast. Jodie Foster will voice Queen Celeste, adding yet another new character to the magical world of Hexe.

Disney isn’t limiting the Hexed presence to concept artwork, either.

The D23 show floor includes a small walk-through experience inspired by the film, allowing guests to step into its witchy, magical world and pose for photos inside recreated environments.

Displays include a house inspired by the movie, the talking book Elias Quire, character displays, and walls filled with artwork offering additional glimpses into the film’s development.

It’s a particularly fun way to introduce audiences to an original movie that doesn’t have decades of characters and stories behind it like many of Disney’s other upcoming projects.

That’s also what makes Hexed such an interesting release for Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Rather than returning to an established franchise, Hexed introduces an entirely new world, new characters, and a new mythology.

The movie was first announced at Destination D23 in 2025, where Disney described the story as following an outsider who discovers that what makes them different is actually hidden magic.

Since then, Disney has gradually revealed more of the film, including Billie’s character, the world of Hexe, and the colorful cast of magical characters surrounding her.

Now, the new artwork displayed at D23 is giving us another chance to see just how imaginative that world could become.

When Does Hexed Come Out?

We won’t have to wait long. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Hexed arrives exclusively in theaters November 25, 2026, putting it right in Disney’s traditional Thanksgiving holiday release window.

With a brand-new magical world, an original story, and a voice cast that includes Hailee Steinfeld, Walton Goggins, and Jodie Foster, Hexed could be one of Disney’s most interesting releases to watch this fall.

And after seeing even more of Hexe at D23, we’re definitely curious to find out what other magic Disney is keeping hidden.
