For the first time in forever, we finally know what comes next for Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven, and Disney just dropped some HUGE Frozen III reveals.
Walt Disney Animation Studios brought Frozen III to D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, and after years of questions surrounding the next chapter of the blockbuster franchise, we’re finally starting to get some answers.
Disney unveiled new footage and concept artwork from the highly anticipated third movie during the Disney Entertainment Showcase, giving fans their first real clues about the story ahead.
And yes, wedding bells are officially ringing in Arendelle. Anna and Kristoff are getting married in Frozen III. But that’s far from the only surprise Disney revealed.
After Kristoff proposed to Anna at the end of Frozen II, Disney is finally following through on that storyline.
The new Frozen III footage shown at D23 confirmed that Anna and Kristoff will get married in the third film, giving the longtime couple their biggest relationship milestone yet.
Disney had already given fans a potential clue before the Entertainment Showcase even began.
New character artwork displayed at D23 showed Olaf, Kristoff, and Sven dressed in formal attire, while Anna appeared in an elaborate pink floral dress with a green cloak. Elsa was shown in a sparkling blue dress featuring diamond-like details with her own blue cloak and boots.
Now we know there’s a very good reason everyone is getting dressed up.
And Anna Is Pregnant!
The wedding isn’t the only major development for Anna and Kristoff.
The footage shown at D23 also revealed that Anna is pregnant, meaning Arendelle’s royal family is about to get a little bigger. That could represent a major new chapter for the franchise, with Anna preparing not only for marriage but motherhood.
Disney hasn’t revealed much more about the pregnancy yet, including how prominently it will factor into the movie’s story, but it’s certainly one of the biggest surprises to come out of the first footage.
Elsa Is Heading Out on Another Journey
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Frozen movie without Elsa being called toward another mystery. The footage reportedly shows Elsa traveling on horseback, with Anna accompanying her on the journey.
Disney hasn’t fully explained what sends the sisters away from Arendelle this time, but the new adventure appears to lead them toward another mysterious threat.
And that’s where things start getting interesting.
‘Frozen III’ Has a Mysterious New Villain
Disney also gave fans their first tease of what appears to be a new villain.
The footage includes a mysterious figure wearing a horned helmet, although Disney hasn’t revealed the character’s identity, motivations, or exactly how they connect to Elsa and Anna’s next adventure.
For now, the character remains one of the biggest mysteries surrounding Frozen III. That mystery also fits with some of the imagery Disney has previously teased for the movie.
Concept artwork revealed at D23 in 2024 showed Anna and Elsa riding toward a distant golden castle in the clouds while a shadowy horned figure appeared behind them.
Two years later, it appears we’re finally beginning to see pieces of that mysterious storyline come together.
Olaf Is Getting a New Snowman Friend
There was another considerably more adorable reveal tucked into the footage.
Olaf apparently won’t be the only snowman around this time. The new Frozen III footage introduces another snowman character who appears alongside Olaf.
Disney hasn’t revealed the new character’s name or explained where they come from yet, so we’ll have to wait to find out whether Olaf has officially found himself a new best friend.
Considering Olaf has spent two movies surrounded primarily by humans, reindeer, and magical spirits, seeing him interact with another snowman could be a pretty fun addition to the franchise.
Disney Revealed New ‘Frozen III’ Concept Art
Along with the footage, Disney unveiled additional concept artwork from the movie.
One image shows Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven together beneath the northern lights, giving us another beautiful glimpse at the visual direction of the third film.
Fans attending D23 also got an early look at Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven’s updated character designs before the Entertainment Showcase began.
Elsa’s new look includes a sparkling blue dress with crystal-like diamond details, while Anna wears a pink floral dress. Both sisters are also shown wearing cloaks and boots.
Kristoff, Olaf, and even Sven appear dressed for a much more formal occasion—which makes considerably more sense now that we know a royal wedding is on the way.
The ‘Frozen’ Cast Reunited at D23
Disney didn’t just bring Frozen III footage to the stage.
Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, the voices of Anna and Elsa, appeared during the presentation and performed “Frozen Heart,” the opening song from the original Frozen.
Josh Gad, who voices Olaf, also joined the celebration and performed a love song dedicated to perhaps the most mysterious character in the entire Frozen franchise:
Samantha. Yes, that Samantha.
The performances helped close out Disney’s first night of D23 while celebrating the franchise ahead of its return to theaters.
When Does ‘Frozen III’ Come Out?
Thankfully, we already know exactly when we’re heading back to Arendelle.
Frozen III will be released exclusively in theaters on Wednesday, November 24, 2027, just in time for Thanksgiving.
And the third movie may not be the end of the story. Disney previously revealed that the story being developed for the next chapter became too large for a single movie, with Frozen IV also in development.
That means whatever mystery Elsa and Anna uncover in Frozen III could potentially carry directly into another film.
For now, though, we have plenty to think about: a royal wedding, a baby on the way, another adventure for Anna and Elsa, a mysterious horned figure, a new snowman, and plenty of unanswered questions.
Arendelle is about to get very busy.
