Universal Orlando Resort has announced an all-new indoor thrill coaster coming to Dark Universe at Universal Epic Universe. Construction is already underway, with an opening planned in the years ahead.
The attraction will be located next to Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment and will introduce an original story inspired by the iconic Universal Monsters franchise.
Universal has not yet announced the coaster’s name, an exact opening date, or additional ride details. More information will be revealed at a later date.
A New Addition to Dark Universe
The announcement comes just over a year after Epic Universe officially opened. Dark Universe, one of the park’s five themed worlds, will expand with a new attraction that draws further on Universal’s classic monsters.
While the story and ride system remain under wraps, Universal has confirmed that the attraction will be an indoor coaster offering a thrill ride experience.
More Experiences Coming to Universal Orlando
The new coaster joins several additions planned across Universal Orlando Resort:
- Universal Horror Make-Up Show featuring Blumhouse: A reimagined version of the show, opening later in 2026 at Universal Studios Florida.
- Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift: A high-speed roller coaster opening in 2027 at Universal Studios Florida.
- New Jurassic Park Restaurant: A signature full-service restaurant opening in 2027 at Universal Islands of Adventure.
- Luke Combs’ Category 10: A music and entertainment venue slated to open at Universal CityWalk in late 2027.
An opening year for the Dark Universe coaster has not been announced.
