Kingdom Hearts fans, get ready to add some marigolds to your keyblade collection — the world of Coco is officially coming to Kingdom Hearts IV.

The reveal came out of D23, confirming that Miguel, the Land of the Dead, and everything else that made Coco such an emotional gut-punch will be joining the Kingdom Hearts universe when the game launches in late 2027.
Given how well Kingdom Hearts has always blended Disney and Pixar worlds together, this honestly feels like a pretty natural fit — vibrant, music-driven, and packed with heart (pun very much intended).
Beyond the confirmation itself, details are still pretty limited. We don’t yet know how deep the Coco world will go — whether we’ll see original characters like Héctor and Ernesto make an appearance, how much of the film’s storyline gets woven into gameplay, or what kind of new mechanics might come with it. Disney hasn’t shared specifics yet, so all of that is still very much TBD.

This news also landed alongside other Kingdom Hearts announcements at D23, including Kingdom Hearts: The Series heading to Disney+, so it’s clearly a big moment for the franchise across the board.
More details on the Coco world in Kingdom Hearts IV are expected as we get closer to its late 2027 launch, so we’ll be watching closely. Excited to see Coco’s Land of the Dead in Kingdom Hearts IV? Let me know what you’re hoping to see!
