As part of The Walt Disney Company’s nationwide “Disney Celebrates America” initiative, ESPN has officially announced an expansive lineup of live programming, documentaries, athlete features, and special events honoring America’s 250th anniversary. The network’s yearlong celebration will spotlight some of the greatest athletes, teams, and moments that have helped shape American sports history.

ESPN has officially unveiled its programming plans for America 250, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States with special content airing across ESPN, ABC, ESPN+, ESPN Digital, ESPN Films, and social media platforms. The initiative is part of Disney’s company-wide celebration commemorating America’s semiquincentennial throughout 2026.

The centerpiece of ESPN’s celebration will air on Saturday, July 4, when SportsCenter expands into a special two-hour live broadcast on ABC from 5 PM to 7 PM ET. Hosted by Kevin Negandhi and Christine Williamson, the program will feature live reports from ESPN personalities across the country while highlighting the athletes, iconic moments, and unforgettable stories that have defined American sports over the past 250 years.
