If you’ve been waiting to lock in your next runDisney vacation, Disney has officially given runners something to add to their calendars. The dates for the 2027 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend at Walt Disney World have been announced, giving participants an early opportunity to begin planning race weekends, resort stays, and travel arrangements before registration opens this summer.
While Disney hasn’t revealed the race themes just yet, runners now know exactly when they’ll be heading back to Walt Disney World for one of runDisney’s most unique race weekends.
2027 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend Dates
Disney has confirmed that the 2027 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend will take place April 8 through April 11, 2027, at Walt Disney World Resort. The weekend shifts one week earlier than many runners had anticipated, making this an important update for anyone planning spring travel.
The Springtime Surprise Weekend has become a fan-favorite event because each year features a completely different theme, unique race medals, entertainment, specialty characters, and surprises that aren’t found during other runDisney weekends.
Although Disney has not yet announced the 2027 race themes, those details are expected to arrive closer to registration.
Registration Opens Soon
If you plan to participate, you’ll want to be ready when registration opens, as many runDisney races sell out quickly.
Disney has announced the following registration schedule:
- Club runDisney Gold and Platinum Registration: June 30, 2026
- General Registration: July 7, 2026
Prospective runners should have their runDisney accounts set up in advance and be logged in before registration opens, as popular race distances often reach capacity within hours, or even minutes.
What is the runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend?
Unlike the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend or Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, Springtime Surprise changes its overall theme every year.
The weekend traditionally includes:
- runDisney Springtime Surprise 5K
- runDisney Springtime Surprise 10K
- runDisney Springtime Surprise 10-Miler
- Springtime Surprise Challenge (all three races)
- A yoga experience to kick off race weekend
Along the course, runners can expect entertainment, Disney characters, themed photo opportunities, exclusive merchandise, commemorative medals, and the unforgettable experience of running through Walt Disney World before the parks open.
