Things are moving fast at Shanghai Disneyland, and Disney’s newest Marvel attraction just swung one step closer to reality.

Construction continues at an impressive pace on the first-ever Spider-Man-themed land coming to Shanghai Disneyland, and Disney has just confirmed one of the biggest milestones yet.

The resort has officially completed track installation for the land’s signature Spider-Man roller coaster, marking another major step toward opening one of the most anticipated Disney attractions currently under construction.

Shanghai Disney Resort has officially announced that the final piece of track has been installed on the new Spider-Man roller coaster.

Disney celebrated the milestone by sharing photos of the final red track section being lifted into place atop the attraction, officially completing the coaster’s track layout.

In a social media update, the resort shared:

“Mission update: Final track piece installed! The signature coaster of the upcoming Spider-Man-themed land has officially completed track installation, with the high-speed adventure speeding ever closer.”

While track installation is now complete, the project still has a long way to go before guests can climb aboard. Next comes extensive ride testing, show installation, theming, landscaping, and the many other finishing touches that bring a Disney attraction to life.

What We Know About the New Spider-Man Attraction

Disney first announced the Spider-Man roller coaster during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in 2024.

The attraction will anchor Shanghai Disneyland’s first major Marvel-themed land, which is being built adjacent to Zootopia. Once complete, it will become the park’s ninth themed land and its third major expansion since opening in 2016.

Disney has only shared a brief story synopsis for the attraction, teasing:

Peter Parker has gotten himself—and us—into a bit of trouble, and guests will follow Spider-Man at very high speeds as they work together to escape.

Although Disney hasn’t revealed ride system details, previously released concept art suggests the coaster will combine indoor and outdoor scenes while immersing riders in a fast-paced Spider-Man adventure.

L4UNCH//R.” Because the styling closely matches the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (W.E.B.) branding used in other Spider-Man attractions, many fans believe it could hint at the attraction’s eventual name.

However, it’s important to note that Disney has not officially announced the ride’s name, so any connection remains speculation for now.
