The latest aerial photos from Universal Orlando show another iconic piece of The Lost Continent has officially met its fate.

New aerial images from Islands of Adventure reveal that the beloved Mystic Fountain has largely been demolished as Universal continues transforming the former Lost Continent area.
The photos shared by bioreconstruct on X show what’s left of the once-interactive centerpiece sitting amid demolition debris, with only portions of the fountain’s outer structure and central rockwork still standing. Much of the fountain’s recognizable features appear to have already been removed.

For years, Mystic Fountain served as one of the most unique interactive experiences in Universal Orlando. The talking fountain regularly entertained guests with jokes, conversations, riddles, and playful interactions, becoming a fan-favorite attraction despite not being a ride.
Now, aerial photographers have captured what appears to be the fountain’s final chapter as demolition crews continue clearing the area.
While Universal has not officially commented on the fountain’s removal, the demolition marks another visible milestone in the ongoing transformation of The Lost Continent. The area is expected to become part of Universal’s highly anticipated expansion plans, with persistent rumors pointing toward a land inspired by Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda franchise (however, we stress that this is purely speculation at this time.)

For longtime Islands of Adventure fans, the disappearance of Mystic Fountain represents the end of another piece of the park’s original 1999 history.
