Universal’s newest theme park hasn’t even opened yet, and one of its most popular offerings is already gone.

Universal Kids Resort’s Silver Annual Passes have officially sold out, less than a month before the highly anticipated family-focused destination opens its gates in Frisco, Texas. According to the Universal Kids Resort website, both the standard Silver Annual Pass and the Silver Annual Pass with Parking are currently unavailable for purchase online.

The sellout marks another sign of strong interest in Universal’s first-ever theme park designed specifically for families with young children.

A Fast Sellout for Universal’s First Kids-Focused Park

When tickets and vacation packages first went on sale in late May, Universal offered a single annual pass tier for the new park: the Silver Annual Pass. The pass provided 12 months of admission to Universal Kids Resort, subject to blockout dates and restrictions. A second version included parking benefits for an additional cost.

Before selling out, pricing was listed as Silver Annual Pass: $129.99 and Silver Annual Pass with Parking: $164.99

Both options included 12 months of park access, making them an attractive choice for local families planning multiple visits throughout the year.

At this time, Universal has not announced whether additional annual passes will become available in the future.

What Is Universal Kids Resort?

Opening on July 1, 2026, Universal Kids Resort represents a major new direction for Universal Destinations & Experiences.

Universal

Located in Frisco, Texas, the 20-acre park was specifically designed for families with younger children and features seven themed lands based on popular franchises including:

  • DreamWorks’ Shrek
  • Jurassic World
  • SpongeBob SquarePants
  • Minions
  • Trolls
  • Puss in Boots
  • Gabby’s Dollhouse

The resort also includes a 300-room themed hotel located steps from the park entrance.

Unlike Universal Orlando’s thrill-focused attractions, Universal Kids Resort was created with younger guests in mind, featuring family-friendly rides, interactive play areas, character experiences, and immersive themed environments.

What This Could Mean

While Universal has not released sales figures, the quick sellout of the park’s only annual pass offering suggests there is significant demand from local families eager to experience the new destination.

It may also indicate that Universal is carefully managing attendance levels during the park’s first months of operation. Similar capacity-management strategies have been used for new attractions, lands, and theme parks throughout the industry. While this is purely speculation, limiting annual pass inventory could help ensure a smoother guest experience during opening season.
