One of the things that immediately caught our attention about Universal Kids Resort Hotel is that every room was designed with families in mind.

Universal

Unlike many theme park hotels that simply squeeze extra beds into a standard room, Universal has created several room categories specifically built for parents traveling with kids. The new 300-room hotel will serve as both the entrance to Universal Kids Resort and a colorful place for families to relax after a day in the park. Rooms will sleep between five and six guests depending on the category selected.

If you’re trying to decide which room is right for your family, here’s a breakdown of every room type currently available.

Standard Queen Room

Universal

The Standard Queen Room is expected to be the entry-level room category at Universal Kids Resort Hotel.

These rooms feature:

  • One queen bed
  • One twin-over-full bunk bed
  • Sleeping accommodations for up to five guests

Universal specifically designed these rooms for families with children, making the bunk beds a fun alternative to the traditional two-queen layout found at many hotels.

For smaller families, this will likely be the most affordable way to stay on-site while still enjoying the themed hotel experience.

Deluxe Queen Room

Next up is the Deluxe Queen Room.

Universal

Like the Standard Queen category, Deluxe Queen rooms include:

  • One queen bed
  • One twin-over-full bunk bed
  • Sleeping space for up to five guests

While Universal has not yet released detailed square footage or layout differences between the Standard and Deluxe categories, the Deluxe designation typically suggests additional space, upgraded views, or enhanced room placement within the hotel.

Families wanting a little more breathing room may find this category worth considering.

Signature Queen Room

Universal

The Signature Queen Room rounds out the three standard guest room categories.

These rooms also include:

  • One queen bed
  • One twin-over-full bunk bed
  • Accommodations for up to five guests

Universal has not yet shared the exact enhancements that separate Signature rooms from Standard or Deluxe rooms, but the category is positioned as one of the premium room offerings within the hotel.

As more details are released, we expect to learn whether these rooms feature upgraded views, premium locations, or additional in-room amenities.

Family Suite

For larger families, the Family Suite may be the most attractive option.

Universal

Unlike the Queen room categories, Family Suites offer a much more residential layout with separate sleeping spaces. According to Universal, these suites include:

  • A king bed in a separate bedroom
  • A queen pullout sofa
  • A twin-over-twin bunk bed
  • An eating area
  • Accommodations for up to six guests

The separate bedroom could be a huge advantage for parents traveling with younger children who go to bed earlier, giving adults additional space to relax once the kids are asleep.

A Hotel Built for Families

One thing that stands out across all four room categories is how intentionally Universal designed the accommodations around families rather than simply adapting traditional hotel rooms.

Universal Kids Resort

Whether you choose a Standard Queen Room or a larger Family Suite, every room category includes kid-friendly sleeping arrangements and enough space for larger travel parties.

Beyond the rooms themselves, Universal Kids Resort Hotel will also feature:

  • An outdoor pool
  • A game room
  • A fitness room
  • A quick-service restaurant
  • A full-service bar
  • Direct access to Universal Kids Resort

Between the bunk beds, family-focused layouts, and location directly at the park entrance, Universal seems to have put a lot of thought into what families with young kids actually need from a theme park hotel.
