Drivers heading into Disney’s Hollywood Studios may notice a small (but noticeable) change before they even reach the park.

New lane dividers have been installed along the roadway approaching the Disney’s Hollywood Studios parking toll plaza, changing how drivers navigate the final stretch before reaching the parking booths.
The new setup is similar to a recent change guests may have already spotted when driving into EPCOT.
As seen during our latest visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, rows of flexible white lane dividers have been installed on the approach to the park’s parking toll plaza.
The dividers extend backward from the individual toll lanes and create a physical separation between vehicles as they approach the booths.

Once drivers reach the divided portion of the roadway and select a lane, the new configuration prevents them from simply cutting across into another toll lane.
Previously, the wide approach to the Hollywood Studios toll plaza provided considerably more room for drivers to move between lanes while approaching the booths.
If the new setup looks familiar, that’s because similar lane dividers were recently installed at EPCOT’s parking toll plaza.

Hollywood Studios now appears to be adopting the same basic configuration, with vehicles separated into their selected lanes before reaching the individual parking booths.
As you can see in our photo, the new dividers cover a significant portion of the final approach, so drivers will want to pay attention and select their preferred toll lane before reaching them.
It’s a relatively minor change compared to the major construction projects happening around Walt Disney World, but it’s one that guests driving to Disney’s Hollywood Studios will encounter before their park day even begins. We think that this change may be a nice welcome to cut down on frustrated guests even before they’re able to enter the parks and start their park day. Personally, we’ve had our fair share of other drivers cutting over into the lane we already started down, eager to get in as quickly as possible, which has caused a near crash a time or two. Hopefully, this change will be just what was missing to cut down on those types of near misses.

We’ll continue watching to see whether similar changes eventually appear at other Walt Disney World theme park parking entrances.
