Your drive into EPCOT just got a little more organized.

If you’re heading to EPCOT by car on your next Walt Disney World vacation, don’t be surprised if you notice something new before you even reach the front gates. Disney has quietly made a change to the park’s entrance that could help improve traffic flow and prevent one common driving habit many guests are guilty of.
New white lane dividers have been installed at the EPCOT parking entrance, creating fixed lanes as vehicles approach the toll plaza. Rather than using temporary cones or movable barriers, the dividers are permanently attached to the roadway and run parallel to each parking lane beneath the iconic EPCOT welcome sign.

The low-profile barriers extend approximately six to seven car lengths before the toll booths, making it much more difficult for drivers to jump into another lane at the last second when they think another lane is moving faster. The dividers are installed on both sides of multiple approach lanes, helping keep vehicles aligned as they near the entrance booths.
The new lane dividers work alongside the black-and-yellow speed bumps already installed near the toll plaza, which were added last year as part of ongoing updates to the entrance area. While Disney has not announced the reason behind the latest addition, the new setup appears designed to improve traffic flow, reduce last-minute lane changes, and create a safer, more organized arrival experience for guests entering EPCOT.

Although it’s a relatively small update, it’s one that thousands of guests driving to Walt Disney World will notice every day. During busy mornings, lane switching near the toll booths can often slow traffic or create confusion, so these new dividers may help keep vehicles moving more efficiently into the park.

Disney has not indicated whether similar lane dividers could be added to the entrance plazas at the other Walt Disney World theme parks, but for now, EPCOT is the first to receive this new traffic management feature.
