Just when it looked like the Taylor Swift and Toy Story 5 rumors were finally winding down, a new clue has fans talking all over again.
A mysterious billboard spotted in downtown Chicago is reigniting speculation that Taylor Swift could somehow be connected to Disney and Pixar’s upcoming Toy Story 5. While there is still no official confirmation of any involvement from the global superstar, Swifties have once again put on their detective hats following the appearance of the new advertisement.
The billboard features the letters “TS” against a bright blue sky filled with white clouds — a design that immediately caught the attention of both Pixar fans and Swifties.
Many fans were quick to point out that the cloud-filled background strongly resembles the iconic wallpaper from Andy’s room in the Toy Story films. The simple design doesn’t explicitly mention either Taylor Swift or Toy Story 5, but that hasn’t stopped fans from drawing connections between the two.
The billboard appeared almost exactly one month after another mysterious event that first sparked the rumors.
It All Started With a Countdown
Speculation surrounding Taylor Swift and Toy Story 5 began on April 30 when a countdown briefly appeared on Swift’s website.
The countdown was visible for only a short period before disappearing, but fans quickly captured screenshots and noticed several similarities to Toy Story. The background featured blue skies and white clouds reminiscent of Andy’s bedroom wallpaper, while the countdown’s colors closely matched the classic Pixar franchise branding.
The countdown vanished before any explanation was provided, leading to weeks of fan theories about a potential connection between Swift and Pixar’s upcoming sequel.
Pixar Recently Addressed the Rumors
The latest billboard arrives just days after members of the Toy Story 5 creative team were asked directly about the Taylor Swift speculation.
During a recent interview, director Andrew Stanton, co-director McKenna Harris, and producer Lindsey Collins acknowledged that they had seen the fan theories circulating online. Stanton described the speculation as “a freakin’ honor,” while Collins said a collaboration with Swift “would be pretty amazing.”
However, the filmmakers also poured some cold water on one of the most popular theories. According to Collins, the film’s final mix has already been completed, and the end credits song is not a Taylor Swift track.
Could Taylor Still Be Involved?
While the filmmakers appeared to shut down rumors that Swift is performing the movie’s ending song, they did not specifically address whether she could be involved in another capacity.
As a result, many fans continue to speculate that Swift could voice a character, contribute music elsewhere in the film, appear in a surprise cameo, or be connected to a separate promotional campaign.
At this point, however, none of those theories have been confirmed.
Toy Story 5 Arrives This Summer
Whether Taylor Swift is involved or not, excitement continues to build for Toy Story 5.
The film will reunite Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and the rest of Andy’s beloved toys as they face a new challenge: children’s growing obsession with electronics and modern technology. The sequel is scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 19, 2026.
For now, Disney and Pixar aren’t saying anything more about the billboard, and Taylor Swift hasn’t commented publicly on the speculation.
