This may end up being one of the prettiest family spaces Disney World has built in YEARS.

Disney has officially shared new details about “Drawn to Wonderland,” the brand-new indoor playground inspired by Alice in Wonderland coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2026 as part of the larger Magic of Disney Animation experience.
The new family play area will be heavily inspired by the original artwork of Disney Legend Mary Blair, whose colorful stylized designs helped define the visual look of Disney’s 1951 animated Alice in Wonderland. And the concept art already looks absolutely stunning.
The Playground Is Inspired by Mary Blair’s Artwork
Disney specifically says Drawn to Wonderland is designed around Mary Blair’s original concept art style for Alice in Wonderland, bringing her whimsical shapes, bright colors, oversized scenery, and surreal environments into a fully immersive physical play space.

The newly revealed concept art shows oversized flowers, stylized Wonderland pathways, giant storybook-inspired environments, colorful abstract landscaping, and indoor interactive family play zones.
All in all, it looks MUCH more artistic and immersive than a traditional Disney playground!
It’s Part of the New “Magic of Disney Animation” Experience
Drawn to Wonderland will be located inside the larger Magic of Disney Animation reimagining taking over the former Star Wars Launch Bay area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The entire experience is inspired by Disney’s Emmy Award-winning short film “Once Upon a Studio” and will transform the area into a creative animation campus themed after the real Walt Disney Animation Studios lot in Burbank, California.
Additional areas inside the experience include:
- “Off the Page!” character encounters
- “Learn to Draw with Olaf!”
- Animation-themed galleries
- Interactive studio environments
And based on the scale shown in the concept art, Drawn to Wonderland appears to be one of the centerpiece family offerings inside the entire project.
Disney Seems VERY Focused on Families Here
One thing that stands out immediately about Drawn to Wonderland is how intentionally family-focused it feels.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios has historically had fewer dedicated younger-kid spaces compared to Magic Kingdom, especially after the closure of several older Animation Courtyard offerings over the last decade.

This new indoor playground appears designed to give younger guests a climate-controlled play area, interactive environments, safe climbing and exploration spaces, and visually stimulating Disney storytelling spaces.
An indoor air-conditioned playground may quietly become one of the most valuable things in Hollywood Studios during Florida summers.
Disney Is Bringing Animation Back to Hollywood Studios
For longtime Disney fans, Drawn to Wonderland also feels like another major sign that Disney is finally leaning back into the park’s animation roots.
When Disney-MGM Studios originally opened in 1989, animation and behind-the-scenes creativity were central to the park’s identity thanks to the original Magic of Disney Animation attraction and the Walt Disney Feature Animation Florida studio.

Now, Disney appears to be rebuilding that identity through animation-focused experiences, creative play spaces, character art galleries, interactive drawing experiences, and Disney Animation storytelling environments/.
The Visual Style Looks Completely Unique
One of the most exciting details Disney shared is just how visually distinct Drawn to Wonderland appears compared to most current Disney Parks environments.

Instead of realistic scenery or heavily screen-based experiences, the area leans fully into stylized hand-drawn animation aesthetics inspired directly by Mary Blair’s artwork.
Disney fans online immediately noticed similarities to it’s a small world, Disney Cruise Line’s Wonderland-inspired kids’ spaces, and the original concept-art-style Imagineering environments.
Drawn to Wonderland Opens in 2026
Disney says Drawn to Wonderland will officially debut as part of The Magic of Disney Animation experience in 2026 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

While Disney has not yet announced an exact opening date, the project is already becoming one of the most anticipated family additions currently planned for Walt Disney World.
