Another construction project is officially getting underway at Disney Springs, and this one could make a BIG difference during those hot Florida afternoons.

The Waterview Park area at Disney Springs is set to temporarily close as Walt Disney World begins work on a new covered guest seating area in the popular waterfront section of The Landing.

Waterview Park is located between Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar and The Boathouse and currently serves as an open-air performance and seating space overlooking the water at Disney Springs.

The area officially closed on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, to allow crews to install a roof structure over the guest seating area. Construction is currently expected to last approximately one month.

During the closure, performers who typically appear at Waterview Park are being relocated to Riverboat Square, located near Paddlefish at Disney Springs.

The addition of more shaded and covered seating continues Disney Springs’ ongoing efforts to improve guest comfort throughout Walt Disney World, especially during Central Florida’s hotter summer months and frequent rain showers. While Disney has not officially shared concept art or additional details about the finished structure, the covered seating area will likely provide much-needed shade in one of the busiest sections of Disney Springs.
