Another MAJOR piece of Disney’s Hollywood Studios transformation has officially arrived.
Construction continues moving quickly on the return of The Magic of Disney Animation experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney fans can now spot another big exterior update at the attraction.
Large-format “ANIMATION” lettering has now been installed beneath the oversized Sorcerer Hat facade at the entrance to The Magic of Disney Animation building. The dimensional lettering stretches across the front of the building and further completes the attraction’s updated Walt Disney Animation Studios-inspired exterior design.
The newly added sign sits directly underneath the recently installed Sorcerer Hat structure, which debuted atop the building earlier this spring. The oversized hat is inspired by the real Roy E. Disney Animation Building in Burbank, California, and the former Sorcerer Hat icon that once stood inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios for more than a decade.
The returning Magic of Disney Animation attraction is part of the larger transformation of the former Animation Courtyard area into the new Walt Disney Studios Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney previously confirmed the updated experience will celebrate Disney Animation history while incorporating elements inspired by the Emmy Award-winning short film Once Upon a Studio.
Inside the reimagined attraction, guests will reportedly encounter Disney characters, experience animation-themed exhibits, and participate in the returning Animation Academy-style drawing experience led by Olaf.
The Walt Disney Studios Courtyard area is scheduled to officially open on May 26, 2026, alongside the new Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! show nearby. Disney has not yet announced a specific opening date for The Magic of Disney Animation itself, though construction on the exterior now appears to be entering its final stages.
As more construction walls continue coming down around Disney’s Hollywood Studios, fans are getting an even better look at what the future of this reimagined area will look like.
