Disney just dropped a FIRST LOOK at the mission briefing for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run…and this might completely change how you experience the ride!

For years, stepping into the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run has been one of the most immersive experiences inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. But now, Disney is teasing something new, and it’s not just a small update.

A brand-new mission is coming with new characters, new destinations, and a storyline twist that fans have been waiting for. And thanks to a newly released sneak peek, we’re finally getting a glimpse at how it all begins.

Disney Parks has officially shared a sneak peek of the mission briefing for the upcoming overlay coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run—and it signals one of the biggest updates the attraction has seen since it opened in 2019.

The new experience, arriving May 22, 2026, introduces an entirely new storyline featuring Din Djarin and Grogu, pulling guests deeper into the evolving Star Wars universe.

And based on this first look at the mission briefing, the stakes are higher than ever!

Instead of the original coaxium heist storyline, the updated mission begins with a fresh setup involving bounty hunting, high-value targets, and a galaxy-spanning chase. The briefing teases that Hondo Ohnaka has discovered a dangerous deal involving ex-Imperial forces and pirates — setting your crew up for a high-stakes pursuit across multiple planets.

What makes this update especially exciting is how the mission structure is evolving. For the first time, guests won’t just follow a single linear path — instead, the mission briefing sets up a choose-your-destination experience, allowing crews to travel beyond Batuu to iconic locations like Tatooine, Bespin, Endor, and even Coruscant.

That means every ride could feel different depending on your crew’s choices.

The sneak peek also hints at a more interactive and character-driven experience. Engineers (previously considered the least exciting role) will now play a much bigger part, including the ability to interact directly with Grogu during the mission.

This subtle shift could completely change how guests approach the ride, making every position in the cockpit feel more meaningful.

And perhaps most importantly, the tone of the mission briefing feels more cinematic and story-focused than ever before. Instead of simply being recruited for a job, guests are now being pulled into an unfolding narrative that connects directly to one of the most popular modern Star Wars storylines.

It’s not just a ride anymore — it’s a continuation of the story.

If this mission briefing sneak peek is any indication, Smugglers Run is about to become a must-do again at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
