If you thought Disney’s movie lineup was already packed, think again, because The Walt Disney Company just made a major update to its upcoming theatrical release schedule—and it’s giving big “clear your calendar now” energy.

We’re talking new dates, shifted plans, and a whole lot of mystery around what’s coming next from Disney, Marvel, and Pixar.
According to the latest update from Deadline, Disney has locked in and adjusted multiple release dates through 2028 and 2029, including several untitled films across its biggest studios.

Here’s the big-picture breakdown:
- Multiple Marvel films are now slated for May 4 and July 13, 2029
- A Disney Animation film is set for June 15, 2029
- A Pixar film is scheduled for November 21, 2029
On top of that, Disney also reserved several additional 2029 release windows—meaning even more announcements are likely coming down the line.
2028 is Getting Reshuffled Too
It’s not just 2029—Disney also made some key moves in 2028.

One notable shift includes a Marvel film originally planned for early 2028 moving to a summer release window (July 28, 2028), while other dates across the year have been adjusted or cleared entirely.
There’s also a confirmed Disney release set for November 10, 2028, though details on that project are still under wraps.
Translation: there’s a lot we still don’t know—but the schedule is clearly being set up for something big.
What This Could Mean for Marvel and Pixar
While Disney hasn’t officially confirmed which films will land on each date, there’s already plenty of speculation.

Potential Marvel titles that could fill those slots include a possible Black Panther sequel, Shang-Chi 2, Blade, or even a long-awaited X-Men project.
On the Pixar side, fans are already eyeing 2029 as a potential landing spot for future sequels or original stories, especially as the studio continues balancing both.
Don’t Forget What’s Already on the Way
And here’s the wild part—this is on top of an already stacked lineup. We already know major releases are coming soon, including:
- Toy Story 5 on June 19, 2026
- The live-action Moana on July 10, 2026
- Avengers: Doomsday arriving December 18, 2026
So yeah… Disney isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
If anything, this update makes one thing very clear: Disney is playing the long game.
By locking in dates years in advance—and leaving room for flexibility—the studio is setting itself up for a steady stream of major releases across Marvel, Pixar, and beyond.
