To celebrate spooky season, several performers from the famous Chippendales Las Vegas production stepped away from their home at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino to brave the scares inside Universal Horror Unleashed, Universal Destinations & Experiences’ year-round horror destination in Las Vegas. And their destination? The terrifying Scarecrow: The Reaping haunted house!
Chippendales Face the Scares at Universal Horror Unleashed
Known for their signature cuffs, collars, and high-energy performances, the Chippendales entertainers experienced a very different kind of entertainment during their visit. The performers ventured inside Scarecrow: The Reaping, one of four haunted houses featured at Universal Horror Unleashed.
Universal shared footage and photos of their experience, capturing the entertainers as they faced the attraction’s frightening encounters. The visit brought together two distinctly Las Vegas entertainment experiences: the Strip’s famous Chippendales production and Universal’s immersive horror destination. And while these performers are certainly accustomed to being the center of attention, the terrifying inhabitants of Scarecrow: The Reaping had a few surprises waiting for them!
What Is Universal Horror Unleashed?
Located in the AREA15 District in Las Vegas, Universal Horror Unleashed is Universal Destinations & Experiences’ first year-round horror destination. Unlike Universal’s seasonal Halloween Horror Nights events, this experience brings immersive haunted entertainment to Las Vegas beyond the traditional Halloween season.
The destination is set inside a reimagined abandoned production warehouse, featuring four themed immersive areas, live entertainment, and four elaborate haunted houses inspired by original concepts and recognizable horror properties.
Guests can experience:
- Scarecrow: The Reaping: An original Universal haunted house featuring a terrifying scarecrow-themed experience.
- Universal Monsters: A haunted house inspired by Universal’s legendary collection of classic movie monsters.
- Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer: A frightening experience based on the supernatural horror film.
- The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: A haunted house inspired by the iconic horror franchise.
Beyond the haunted houses, Universal Horror Unleashed features themed bars and food locations serving specialty cocktails and themed bites in select areas. Guests can also explore the destination’s immersive environments, enjoy live entertainment, and shop for unique horror-themed collectibles.
Horror Entertainment Beyond Halloween
One of the biggest differences between Universal Horror Unleashed and Halloween Horror Nights is that the Las Vegas destination is designed to deliver horror experiences throughout the year. That means visitors don’t have to wait until September or October to experience Universal’s elaborate haunted houses.
The Chippendales visit is another example of how Universal is bringing its horror destination into the larger Las Vegas entertainment scene, connecting the experience with performers and productions already familiar to visitors. My Take
I enjoy seeing Universal Horror Unleashed have a little fun with its Las Vegas location! Bringing in the Chippendales performers for a haunted house visit is such an unexpected crossover, and honestly, watching people who are used to performing in front of huge crowds get scared by Universal’s monsters sounds pretty entertaining.
What I especially like about Universal Horror Unleashed is that it gives horror fans something to experience outside of Halloween Horror Nights season. As someone who loves Universal’s haunted attractions, I think having a year-round destination like this is a really fun addition to Las Vegas, especially when Universal finds creative ways to introduce it to new audiences
