Planning a Walt Disney World vacation just got a little easier, thanks to a useful update to Disney’s official website! Walt Disney World has upgraded its website’s search feature, allowing guests to find attraction wait times, operating hours, height requirements, and other important details directly within search results.
Previously, searching Disney World’s website typically returned a list of links that guests had to open individually to find the information they needed.

Now, search results feature detailed cards with information about attractions, restaurants, entertainment, and more, making the experience much more similar to the My Disney Experience app. And there are some pretty helpful features included!
Ride Wait Times and Height Requirements Now Appear in Search Results!
One of the biggest improvements is the ability to see estimated attraction wait times without navigating to an individual ride’s webpage. For example, searching for an attraction like The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror can now display a result card featuring the attraction’s name, photo, estimated wait time, operating hours, and minimum height requirement.
Guests can also search for broader categories, such as “roller coasters,” to see multiple attractions that fit their search.

Results may include attractions like Space Mountain, The Barnstormer, and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, with relevant operating information displayed alongside each listing. This is especially useful for families trying to determine which attractions their children can experience before arriving at the parks.
Search for Characters, Entertainment, and Even Your Favorite Disney Snacks!
The improvements aren’t limited to rides! Disney World’s updated search feature also helps guests discover character experiences, entertainment, and dining locations using everyday search terms.
For example:
- “Rides for little kids”: Displays family-friendly attraction guides and rides without minimum height requirements.
- “Winnie the Pooh”: Returns related attractions, merchandise locations, and character experiences.
- “Fireworks”: Helps guests find nighttime spectaculars and related entertainment information.
- “Parade”: Displays parade offerings, including seasonal entertainment at Magic Kingdom.
- “DOLE Whip”: Shows dining locations serving the popular Disney treat, along with available hours and pricing information.
- “Gluten free food”: Surfaces Disney’s special dietary information and relevant dining options.
Instead of searching through multiple sections of Disney’s website, guests can now use the search bar to find more relevant information in one place.
What Does This Mean for Disney World Guests?
While the My Disney Experience app already provides many of these features, the website improvements are particularly helpful for guests who prefer planning their vacations on a computer. Being able to compare attraction height requirements, check estimated wait times, and discover dining locations without switching between multiple pages makes the planning process more convenient.

It’s also helpful for first-time visitors who may not know the exact names of attractions or where to find specific information. Of course, attraction wait times and operating hours can change throughout the day, so guests should continue checking Disney’s official information while visiting the parks.

My Take
I actually really love this update! Disney World vacation planning can be overwhelming, especially for first-time visitors, and anything that makes important information easier to find is a win in my book. I especially appreciate that guests can now search for something as simple as “rides for little kids” instead of needing to know every attraction by name.
I also think this is a great improvement for those of us who prefer planning on a desktop rather than constantly switching back to the My Disney Experience app. It’s not a huge, flashy announcement, but it’s one of those smaller changes that can genuinely improve the guest experience.
