Good news for Disneyland adventurers.

Indiana Jones Adventure reopens today, October 23, 2026, after a refurbishment that began on September 8. That’s about six and a half weeks of downtime for one of Disneyland’s most popular attractions.
Disney hasn’t officially announced what the work included, but the changes that have been described are the kind of practical fixes that can make a big difference for guests.
The Temple of the Forbidden Eye doors were switched from hydraulic to electric. They should be easier to maintain and less likely to fail. When those doors failed in the past, staff had to prop them open and space out vehicles, which slowed the ride down.

Vehicles now park more accurately when loading and unloading, which should speed up boarding. And the vehicles have larger pouches for personal items, which has been a major cause of slow loading.
Altogether, the changes are estimated to add 125 people per hour in capacity, which works out to 1,000 or more guests per day. Those numbers are an estimate, so it will be interesting to see how the queue looks in the coming weeks.
If you’re heading to the park today, Disneyland is open from 8 AM to 11:00 PM.

This is the kind of refurbishment I love, because it’s not about changing the ride; it’s about making sure it keeps running. Indiana Jones Adventure is a ride that people line up for, and it’s no fun to wait and then find it closed for downtime, so fixing the doors and speeding up loading is a smart move. Those pouches are a nice touch for families too, since keeping your phone and sunglasses in a safe spot is one less thing to juggle on a bumpy jeep ride. If you’ve got the ride on your must-do list, today’s a great day to check it off, and I’d watch the wait times over the next few weeks to see if these changes really make a difference.
