The next time you’re strolling the BoardWalk, you may be able to make your own soap.

Disney

Basin on the BoardWalk now has an official Walt Disney World page, and it’s labeled “coming soon.”

No opening date is listed yet, and there aren’t any hours either. Disney had previously said Basin would open sometime later in 2026, so the new page is a sign that things are moving along.

The page describes a 1920s-style, apothecary-inspired shop and calls it a “sensory shopping experience” rooted in classic boardwalk heritage, one that feels “both timeless and distinctly new.” That’s a lot of fancy words for a store that smells amazing, and I mean that as a compliment.

Here’s what’s on the shelves, according to the page. Basin is promising handcrafted products made with quality ingredients, including natural soaps, botanical bath salts, bath bombs, body butters, lip salves, and shampoo and conditioner bars.

The part I’m most excited about is the hands-on stuff. There will be a custom bath tea blending counter, a make-your-own-soap station, and a soap embossing press that lets you personalize your finished product. That makes Basin more of an activity than a quick stop for a gift, which is great news for families looking for something to do that isn’t a ride or a restaurant.

As for the location, Basin is expected to take over the former Promenade Fine Art Gallery space at Disney’s BoardWalk, which closed in October 2025. Disney hasn’t named the exact spot, so we’ll keep an eye out for confirmation. If you’ve been wondering what was going to fill that corner of the BoardWalk, this is the answer.

If the name sounds familiar, it should. Basin already has locations at Disney Springs and Disney’s Grand Floridian, which would make this the third one on Walt Disney World property

I’m a fan of this one. A shop where kids and adults can blend a bath tea or press their own initials into a bar of soap is a nice change from the usual rows of souvenirs, and it’s a sweet thing to pick up for a friend or family member back home. It also gives the BoardWalk a reason to wander in during the day, when you’re looking for something calm between park touring or a swim. With an official page now live, it feels like the countdown has started.

We’ll let you know as soon as Basin on the BoardWalk gets a date. Keep checking back with us here at Theme Park Scope for all the latest Disney World shopping and resort news, and tell us in the comments what you’d want to make at the soap station.
