Okay, I need to talk about snacks, because Disney on Broadway just reminded me that a night at the theater can also be a Halloween treat run.

Aladdin at the New Amsterdam Theatre is offering a limited-time lineup of Halloween goodies this month, and honestly, the cup alone has my attention.

Disney on Broadway announced on Instagram that guests attending Aladdin performances can pick up Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie Treats, available either plain or chocolate-topped. There’s also cotton candy served in a bucket, because apparently a regular cone was not dramatic enough for October. And then there are the color-changing cups featuring the Aladdin and New Amsterdam Theatre logos, which is the item I’d be tracking down first.

The timing is simple. These items are available only through Halloween, Saturday, October 31. After that, they’re gone, so if you’ve got a New York trip on the calendar this month, plan accordingly.

Let me give you a little context on why the New Amsterdam is such a fun place for this. Aladdin has been playing there for 12 years, which is a long run by any standard, and Disney has a long history with the theater itself. For a lot of Disney families, a Broadway trip is the closest thing to a theme park day in New York, so seasonal touches like this make the show feel like part of the Disney holiday calendar, alongside the parks and resorts. It’s a smart little way to turn a matinee into an event.

Speaking of the show, Sherri Shepherd is currently playing the Genie and is scheduled to perform through January 3, 2027.

Since the treats run all month, you don’t have to fight for a Halloween night performance to get in on this. Any October show date should do it, as far as the announcement suggests, which is good news if you’d rather skip the busiest weekend of the month. I’d still confirm with the theater, since I can’t promise every performance will have every item in stock.

I love a limited-time treat, and I love it even more when it comes with a souvenir. A color-changing cup with the Aladdin and New Amsterdam logos is exactly the kind of thing I’d bring home and then use way too often. The Mickey Rice Krispie Treat is a classic, no notes. And cotton candy in a bucket is the sort of ridiculous snack I’d order with zero shame.

I’d also love to see more of these seasonal touches around the holidays. A candy-cane-striped something at Christmas? I’d be there.

Are you planning a New York trip before Halloween, and would you stand in line for the cup? Tell me in the comments, and keep checking back with Theme Park Scope, because I’ll share more Disney news and updates on stage and in the parks, as soon as I have them.
