Disney and Broadway fans visiting New York City this month have a unique photo opportunity waiting for them.

For a limited time, the iconic Genie’s lamp from Disney’s Aladdin on Broadway has been transported to the heart of Times Square, giving guests the chance to see one of the musical’s most recognizable symbols up close. The display is located in Father Duffy Square at 47th Street and Broadway and will remain available through June 15, 2026.

A Massive Piece of Disney Broadway History

This isn’t just any lamp.

The larger-than-life replica stands an impressive 14 feet tall and weighs approximately 1,200 pounds. The lamp was originally created in 2024 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Disney’s Aladdin on Broadway and previously sat atop the marquee of the historic New Amsterdam Theatre in New York City.

Designed to replicate the lamp seen in the stage production, the display features intricate decorative details and craftsmanship inspired by the prop used during the show. When it debuted atop the theater marquee, the lamp even included special effects that allowed it to spin and emit smoke.

A Special Broadway Celebration

The lamp’s arrival in Times Square was celebrated with a special performance of “Friend Like Me” from the Broadway musical.

Current Genie performer Caleb A. Barnett joined fellow cast members for the event, bringing a little Agrabah magic to one of the world’s most famous intersections.

The display serves as both a celebration of Disney’s long-running Broadway hit and an opportunity for fans to experience a piece of theatrical history outside the walls of the New Amsterdam Theatre.

Disney Fans May Recognize It

If the lamp looks familiar, there’s a reason.

Genie’s lamp from Aladdin

Earlier this year, the giant replica made a stop at EPCOT during the 2026 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, where it became a popular photo location for Walt Disney World guests. Now, after its Florida appearance, the lamp has returned home to New York City for another limited-time engagement.
