Volcano Bay guests may soon have even more ways to relax in style.

New aerial photos from bioreconstruct on X reveal significant progress on the newest cabana expansion at Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay Water Theme Park, where construction crews have begun installing themed roofing on several new premium cabana structures.

The project appears to be moving steadily forward as Universal continues enhancing guest amenities at its tropical water park.

Roofing Now Installed on New Structures

The latest aerial images show multiple multi-level cabana structures now standing with their themed roofs largely in place.

The cabanas feature Volcano Bay’s signature South Pacific-inspired design language, complete with tropical thatched-style roof treatments that help the new additions blend seamlessly into the surrounding environment.

While construction fencing still surrounds the area, the overall footprint of the project is now clearly visible from above.

Compared to earlier construction updates that primarily showed foundations and framing, the project is beginning to look much closer to a finished guest area.

A New Premium Viewing Area

The new cabanas are being constructed near one of Volcano Bay’s most scenic sections, overlooking portions of the winding Kopiko Wai Winding River and adjacent relaxation areas.

Once completed, guests staying in these premium spaces will likely enjoy elevated views of the surrounding attractions while maintaining additional privacy away from the busiest sections of the park.

Several of the structures appear to feature second-story viewing decks, which could provide unique sightlines across portions of Volcano Bay rarely available from ground level.

Bamboo Landscaping Coming Soon

One of the most noticeable details from the latest aerial photos is the large planting area behind the new cabanas.

According to observations from the construction site, the structures will eventually be backed by a substantial wall of tall bamboo, helping to create a secluded tropical atmosphere while also screening nearby operational areas from guest view.

The addition of mature landscaping is a key part of Volcano Bay’s immersive design philosophy, where pathways, attractions, and guest spaces are intentionally hidden within dense tropical foliage.

Once the bamboo and surrounding vegetation are fully established, the new cabana area should feel like a natural extension of the existing water park environment.

Universal Continues Investing in Volcano Bay

Although Epic Universe has dominated recent Universal Orlando headlines, the resort continues making investments across its existing parks and experiences.

Volcano Bay remains one of the most highly rated water parks in the country, and premium experiences such as cabanas have become increasingly popular among families looking for a dedicated home base during a full day at the park.

The addition of more cabanas could help meet growing demand while offering additional premium options during busy summer and holiday seasons.
