Merry early Christmas, friends, because the Muppets are about to sneak into your holiday decor.

An exclusive Muppet Christmas Carol collection is coming soon to Disney Store, and I have already pictured Kermit as Bob Cratchit on my tree. Let’s go through what is coming, because there is a lot to love and a few things I want to be honest about not knowing yet.
The date to circle is Monday, October 19, at 8 AM PT, which is 11 AM ET. The collection drops on Disney Store Private Access, which means you will need to be logged in to buy.
Now the good stuff. There are three types of items, starting with mini plush ornaments, and the lineup is so charming I might need to lie down. Kermit shows up as Bob Cratchit, and Miss Piggy is Mrs. Cratchit. Statler and Waldorf appear as the ghosts of Jacob and Robert Marley, which is one of my all-time favorite casting choices in any holiday movie. The set also includes Bunsen Honeydew, Beaker, and Bean Bunny, so yes, you can have the whole gang at once.

Next up are the mystery box figurine ornaments, which are the blind-box kind where you do not know which one you will get until you open it. The lineup includes Bean Bunny, Kermit, Miss Piggy, Robin the Frog as Tiny Tim, The Great Gonzo as Charles Dickens, and Rizzo the Rat as himself. I do not know how rare any of them are or how the odds work, so I would not promise any particular figure to a child who has their heart set on one.
And then there is the Loungefly mini backpack, which is the showstopper for the grown-up collectors. It is red faux leather, embossed all over with swags and bows, and the front has a dimensional cutout of Gonzo as Dickens and Rizzo as himself, framed by an evergreen swag with a red bow. That duo is the heart of the movie, since Gonzo and Rizzo are the ones telling the story, so I love that they got the spotlight here. I have not seen the size or any measurements, so I would wait for full details before deciding if it fits your daily carry.
A little context for the movie nerds. The Muppet Christmas Carol came out in 1992, with Michael Caine playing Scrooge among the Muppets, and over the years it has become a holiday favorite for families who like a little felt with their ghost story. The fact that Disney keeps building merchandise around it tells me it has a loyal fan base, and honestly, I understand why.
Ornaments and blind-box figures feel like a very kid-friendly way to start a holiday tradition, and a Muppet Christmas Carol ornament is a nice way to remind kids of a movie night. A small plush ornament could be a fun gift for a child who is learning to decorate the tree, though I would check the packaging for age recommendations and small-parts warnings, which I do not have. And if you are a parent hoping to grab a blind box as a stocking stuffer, it might be worth remembering that mystery means a surprise, for better or worse.

On launch day, a few friendly thoughts. Private Access launches can move fast, so having your Disney Store account ready and being logged in before 11 a.m. Eastern is a smart move. I cannot tell you how quickly things might sell out, since nothing has been shared about quantities or limits, and I would not want to promise either way.
I love this collection! Statler and Waldorf as the Marleys alone is worth the price of admission, and I think the blind box format is going to make a lot of families smile and a few collectors groan. I would love to see prices before getting too excited, because ornaments can add up quickly, especially if you are chasing a full set. But as someone who gets a little misty at a felt frog saying “God bless us, everyone,” I am fully on board. If you plan to shop, set your alarm and be nice to yourself if the one you want sells out.
