As Disney’s Hollywood Studios prepares for the grand opening of Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets on May 26, Disney has officially debuted an entirely new background music loop in the attraction’s courtyard, and honestly? The entire area now feels completely different!
The updated courtyard music debuted this week as Disney continues finishing the transformation of the former Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith into its new Electric Mayhem-themed version starring The Muppets.
The new loop features a massive collection of songs spanning from the late 1970s all the way through more modern rock tracks from the past several years. The playlist is heavily anchored by Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem while also mixing in classic rock songs and unexpected deep cuts throughout the courtyard.
And it sounds WAY more like a chaotic music festival now than the old Aerosmith-era atmosphere!
The new courtyard loop includes a huge mix of artists, genres, and styles designed to match the wild personality of Electric Mayhem.
The loop reportedly features the following songs, with 4 of them featuring The Electric Mayhem:

The atmosphere now feels much more colorful, playful, and unpredictable compared to the original hard-rock-focused Aerosmith soundtrack that previously dominated the area for decades.
The updated music loop arrives alongside the massive visual overhaul happening throughout the attraction’s exterior and queue area. Disney has transformed the once red-and-white Aerosmith guitar into a psychedelic Electric Mayhem-inspired centerpiece covered in vibrant colors and swirling patterns inspired by the band’s iconic tour bus.
Additional updates throughout the courtyard now include new Muppets-themed signage, updated lighting packages, colorful concert posters, Electric Mayhem branding, reimagined queue spaces, and newly painted ride vehicles.
Disney also confirmed the attraction itself will feature multiple rotating onboard soundtracks, celebrity cameos, new Muppet animatronics, and a storyline centered around the band racing to make their biggest Hollywood concert ever.
The new music loop honestly feels like one of the clearest signs yet that Disney is fully leaning into The Muppets as a major part of Hollywood Studios again, following the closure of MuppetVision 3D.
Between the updated courtyard atmosphere, the Electric Mayhem overlays, new merchandise, themed food kiosks, and attraction soundtrack changes, this corner of Sunset Boulevard now feels almost unrecognizable compared to the Aerosmith version that operated from 1999 through early 2026.
And honestly? The new energy feels VERY Muppets — chaotic, weird, colorful, and just slightly unhinged.
